Sound Deadening / Dampening

Starting off with the sound treatment of the metal panels. This is done by stripping the car to the bare metal, cleaning it with a isopropanol solution and having a clean surface to work on.

Got my hands on some Infinity & Caliber sound deadening sheets and got down to working. Most of the work was a DIY apart from a few finicky areas where I got tired and just let the installer do it. Most of my equipment comes from @soundvalley. I did utalize 1 sheet of a different branded deadener (Recoil) which is visible in the pics.

Once the panels were treated with the sound deadener, next we move onto the sound dampening material which in this case is Closed Cell Foam (CCF or Acoustic Foam). Got to use three different thickness of foaming ( 1.5cm, 1cm, 0.6cm. These were used on all the plastic panels inside the cabin after they too got treated with pieces of sound deadener first

Let the pictures do the talking:

Introducing the next generation of single din headunits from Pioneer. The X7800dab is full of modern day features. But most importantly, its a 3 way network capable headunit, had auto and time alignment, crossover settings with slope settings etc which make it a great headunit for any audiophile

There's no possibility for a double din headunit in the nissan sunny ( unless you go with a pop out headunit which i'm not a big fan off ) so will be sticking to a single din for the near future

Rear Stage: JL Audio 10W1V3-4

Being one of Crutchfeild's top selling subwoofer, you wonder why it's liked by so many with 5* ratings almost everywhere. It's simple. The sub uses the same patent technology JL Audio developed for their legendary W7 subwoofer's.

Got the 3M Fast Rings. These are intended to isolate the midbass from getting lost within the door. The central ring (pic 1) goes right behind the midbass driver and the outer ring (pic 3) goes around it ensuring the music travels into the cabin and the cabin only. An additional outer ring was also bought for each speaker which was installed on the inside of the door (pic 2) ensuring the coil is protected from water and reducing unwanted resonance inside the door frame
