I m planning to book Altis 1.6 & considering phantom brown colour. I think its nice & unique but one of my friend told me its not reliable and need lot of maintenance and fading issue as well. Is there any one using this colour in Altis? Coz user experience is much more fruitful for decisions making...
I would encourage senior pakwheelers like @autophile for export opinion. And please post pix of this colour. Pls confirm the colour in the video in given link. https://youtu.be/v0igLEgljBo52
Thanks

Its an amazing color. Din mein brown and gives a black look during night. Simply awesome. It is like black and needs a lot of mentainenxe true but then if u love ur car u maintain it too.

Its a slow color in terms of resale weisey not a HOT color.

2017 Altis Grande Phantom brown is in family with 21000 kms and there are no fading or discolouring issues. the only issue i see in it is cross wind noise above 120 kph over Motorway while user say bhai aap ka wayham hai. :sunglasses:

case of discolouring fading happens when champi & paleesh is done aggressively with substandard products

it is considered premium color and not available often for scheduled booking

If you like a colour a lot then just buy it. Don't think about resale or fading. I'm sure Toyota guys have taken some precautions to prevent fading or deterioration. Also wax and polish and avoid the sun as others have suggested. Good luck!

This colour may b protected by glass coating or ceramic coating?

Bhai color fades with time, insufficient care etc. Actually it's not the color that fades, it's the clear coat layered on top of the paint which does. I can go into details to macron levels but that's not necessary. Know that if you take care of your car, the paint/color will not fade for years

Bro if u can maintain it.. it's just like black.every color can fade if not taken care properly..very nice color and color is a personal choice as well.

I did not have good experience (long term) with glass coating but yes it is promising and someone else can guude u about it. You can easily protect any color by regularly using certain car waxes whixh are available. Keeping a dark color takes a little more effort and if done and maintained the dark colors like black and phantom browns look gorgeous. Collinite waxes are one of the best ones.

@autophile knows best about them

I had two of my cars coated.. swift and city... it's good but does not do magic unless car is maintained..anb glass coating maintainence is expensive and more difficult than regular effort. For color fading keep waxing the car with any good wax liks collinite, meguirs, cg etc or of you are more concerned, u can use sealant like klasse or jetseal..coating will nto magic.. after experiencing two car i avoided coating on my newly bought Altis Grande. If anyone needs maintenance details lemme know..i can tell u what is required and the cost involved..just not worth it

It's a good colour and different from all those whites, silver and blacks. But like all dark colours it takes a lot of effort to keep them looking clean and gleaming. I kept a black colour car for 10 years and I really took good care of it and put in a lot of effort to maintain it's colour and shine and there was no fading at all till the time I put it on sale.

Then I bought a medium silver 1.6 in 2015 and life became so comfortable and easy. I used to clean it after a week with waterless wash and would give it a wash only via two bucket methods after rain. kept it for one year and thanked myself for not buying a dark colour.

Then in 2016 and 2017 I bought Grande and Grande Facelift, both in super white colour and I l really love them. Still once a week cleaning with waterless wash. They don't look dirty for days in super white.

Now I don't think that I will buy a dark colour car again.

Totally agreed..unless u have spare time u can't keep black car shining

Actually 8 out of 10 cars are in white colour. I agree that dark colour take more maintenance but its look unique.
