After we trimmed the 'fat' off of the rx8 ecu the rpm and oil pressure works 100%. The check engine light also functions properly. I purchased an Acewell digital sports road bike speedometer (Acewell 6656) and installed it hoping I could use that and block off my original dash cluster. I still have to get that done. I am pretty sure I need a fuel pressure regulator because of the current issue I have. People in general are way too secretive when it comes to getting the wiring 100% with these RX8 1JZ swaps.
When I idle and the car is in neutral - I can rev up to 7000 rpm no issue, when I drive in any gear at 3000 rpm my car seems to bomb out, reached max boost, turbo flutters and there is a surge of power. So I drive at a snails paste. I can't drive the car properly seeing I don't exceed 3000 rpm. This is becoming frustrating. I'm pretty sure I'd require a fuel pressure regulator - to control the flow of the fuel pressure (keeping it constant).
I've noticed there is black smoke indicating over fueling (running extremely rich) fuel consumption has been terrible. Please note, this engine has been standing for an entire year. I have inspected the turbo and there seems to be absolutely no problem with it.
Please feel free to share some tips and advice.
Thanks
