Why Nissan Sunny is a Cheap Car?

Why is it so cheaper when its appearance is that of a luxury Sedan? What you guys think about this car? Repair costs, durability, ground clearance etc etc. Will it be a good car for a family intending to use it for a couple of years?

Nissan sunny is better as compared to local craps like suzukis, cowrolla, civic, city etc.. The only problem with Nissan is that because of the monopoly of the local manufacturers, They doesn't allow Nissan and Mitsubishi to succeed. The dealers created the concept of the low resale value of Nissan and Mitsubishi however they are far better than local craps..

Thanks for your response. I am interested in buying a pre-2002 Sunny model as my budget is around 600 - 700k. Sunny is available under 600k but I am a little shaky on its performance and repair costs though.

bhai ye ap ko kis ne kaha ke sunny is a cheap car ?? just test its driving first, its great car, gives great driving pleasure, Spare parts koi expensive nahi hy, very comfortable and polite car. Fuel consumption is far better then corolla and civic.

By cheap, I was using the literal meaning that is price. Not that the car itself is a third-class vehicle. I was saying that it is cheap as I have a budget of around 600-700k. Sunny 2001 is available under 600k. It is cheaper when compared to Corolla where even 94 is above 700k.

Laiana is also in your range, but Sunny is very good car in this range, you know in our market peoples only see re sale value, which car have good re-sale ha has good market value, even that car have no features, like XLI, Cultus, Mehran, i mean to say these have no air bags, no good breaks, nothing for the safety of passenger, but even then prices are very high. Nissan, Mitsubishi, Chevrolet cars are much better these these cars but they have low resale, in Pakistan our Auto market have been Captured by Dealers, they grow the prices, they de-grade the brand, they can do all you know.

Yes bro, shopkeepers and mechanics try to rip the customer always...
always search first at least 3 to 4 shops then purchase

i purchased vitz air filter at a price of 1800 when i was new, now i m purchasing air filter for vitz is Rs. 220 (Guard Filter)
and always try to look maximum options available (Not Jugar)

Yar repairing bhi same hi hay as Corolla, Aik achi workshop ne sunny ki tuning ke bhi utny hi pesy leny hain jitny toyota ke, Honda is bit expensive in this regard. Suspension repair will cost aprox same as corolla, Spare parts are easily available but not as frequent as corolla but not big problem to find. denting painting charges are almost same for all cars, or kaya repair karwana hy ????

whats the situation now??? yesterday i saw a sunny and i loved it. i was thinking to buy a 2005/6 city but now i am loving 2005 sunny. what do u say? biggest concern is spare parts availability and maintenance cost?
