Well i have a general feeling that Honda City new shape which came in late 2003 is not that much popular. I am not getting any positive response from people when I talk about this model.
I am planning to buy one but Is the shape only problem or there is some problem with the engine or any other thing. Why people dont give a positive response about Honda City 2004 up models.

everyone has their own opinion but personally i own a 2003 city and nothing is worng with it its a wonderfull car .. im selling mine if ur intrested give me a call @ 0332 5311719 im located in islamabad
i also own city04 n have no problem ,this new shape was a big flop in initial days but after that u can see its popularity , just look around the streets n ull find many of these .
As i have heard from others,
1 - city-04 front door pillers r quite wide so they become an obsticale when turning the car eitherway.
2 - The car is not stable at high speeds(140 and above) comapared to previous model.
3 - it's underpowered.
4 - Automatic model gives problems on CNG.
5 - built quality is not as strong as the previous model.
well the 2003 to 2006 shape was a bit odd but it is a futuristic shape and as you can see, all the new cars are coming out with more or less the same shape. The 2006 and onwards is much much better.
yes i agree, the big pillar thing can be dangerous while turning
1.3 is a bit underpowered but remember it is primarily designed for economy for which it is doing a great job... you can get 14+ per litre. The iDSI is a unique 2 spark plugs per cylinder design
the 1.6 steermatic is both power+performance
build quality is still better then other paki cars...honda has overall better quality control and aftersales
the car has super quite engine, large hood, EPS soft steering, etc
it is not unstable if you have good tires
although city is an okay car (every car has pluses and minuses) and is a matter of personal preference, but i would never spend my money on it as there are better cars available at that price. if u like the car, then do go ahead with it!
overall all pakistani cars are pretty bad in quality and degrade very quickly. the only locally mnfd car in my opinion that has comparatively maintained some quality is honda civic.
I have no doubt about the pathatic build quality of the Pakistan assembled car. This is a totally different issue. What i was wondering that why people don't like City 2004 and up models as compared with City 2000-2003 models.
At the end, which one would be better. Buying a 2003 Xli for 750,000 or a 2004 city for about 600000 - 620,000. Resale is not a big consideration. I am looking for 1.3L Lancer but couldn't get hold of any.
who says its not popular..??? in a city of (mostly) paindoos..i.e. sargodha....every 3rd big car is a city.in big cars,after corolla.city is the most abundant on the streets.
yes quality is an issue wid all local cars,city also has sum quality issues but those r not related to engine,suspension or any mechanical parts.its only that the fittings r not good,the finishing is not up to the mark.but still its better than other cars.
yes...it is unstable after 140...if u dnt hav sum good tyres.otherwise its stable upto 160kmh a member drove @ 208kmh too....!!!
resale is getting better day by day.
the same wide pillars act as a barrier of the car rolls over.the r really tough...really really tough believe me.
underpowered...yes.it is sure.but its a family car not race car...its meant for economy not for acceleration.so it does the best job in fuel average.
yes auto gives problems on cng.if the cng is not fitted corectly,only then.if u put advancer emulator nd lambda system.it does well
yes build quality is not as good as the older models,but thats tha case wid every single car in pakistani market.even the previous corolla is considered to b better than the present 1.
so,those ppl who say its not a good car or not worth buying,the know nothing about it.they just think that this aerodynamic nd futuristic shape liiks like anda...or istri...!!! they dnt know what its all about...!!!
