Whether to buy Honda Civic 1998 (good condition). Price and Pros, Cons

AOA i wanna ask whether to buy honda civic dolphin shape if it is well maintained, will this car last for a while if maintained well. can new features like ABS be installed in it, if yes, in how much cost. what will be pros and cons and what is the price range for such a car(well maintained and slightly modified). Thanks

I had a Honda Civic 1995 for quite a few years. From 2006 till 2013. Great car! The only problem was that it was getting old and starting to give me small problems every month. Starter failure, water pump failure, alternator belt breaking, A/c gas leaked due to leaky pipe etc. Problems caused by old age. If you can tolerate such small problems then go ahead and buy it. But be careful as many people with 1995 Civics have abused them a lot.

Some car enthusiasts have managed to keep their 1995 Civics in mint condition, freshly showered, engine replaced and everything in mint condition. What about such a car and what will be price bracket for such a car.

dolphin shape last model was 1995.

the 1996-2000 civic is one of the best honda civics.

ABS did not come with it. if well maintained it easily lasts a long time.

Bought a 1998 model only 50k driven from an army officer who was the first owner in 2013. Car was exceptionally well kept and 100% original.
Drove it for 50k and it started giving problems, huge issue was with steering rod, even after showing to about 7 mechanics it wouldnt go. Couldn't find reliable kabli parts and you cant get new parts.

In short old cars tho cheap come with a price.

I have Honda civic 1995.. It's a strong car I used in all kinds of roads n worst road like Mahoudant lake Swat.... Comfortable car cheap to mentained... In good conditions it still attracts.

i kept 98 civic 4 wheel disc vti for quiet sometime
its prone to overheating issues and suspension issues
buying 1 now, most probably engine would be swapped by now
suspension bushes (rear which are a nightmare)

but if the car is not overheating and making suspension noises. its a fun car to have and ride for sure

weird. mine has never overheated, its an exi though.. and done 215000km on the original thermostat valve, auto fan etc. always used coolant.

suspension yes,,, but then karachi roads are terrible now. the cheap rbi thailand bushes do last about 2 years.

Great car to have, just get a decent one, Auto one would be heavy on Fuel and its suspension has very expensive parts.

what fuel avg does auto vti give if well kept ?
i kept the car in cng era so never got a chance to do a top tank to tank avg check on it

on 55ltr cng it used to give me 140km's approx
