What is a water body?

What is a water body? what is its function? does it yield sound like zoooon zooon zooon? this sound prominents at 3rd and 4th gear. what makes it get disorederd? by drivibg in rain water does it give the sound like above? or something else is giving such sound. I have shown my car (corolla 86) to three different mechnics, one said this sound is from Dynomo/generator's barrings, the other said it is from AC barrings and the last said this sound is from waterbody. Please comment and advise.

Water Body or Water Pump...pumps the water from the radiator to the engine. It looks like the following pic, however the one in the following pic is from a RWD car.

As for the sounds you mentioned....that can be anything, get it checked by some good mechanic.

It is also connected to the Generator Pipe ..
If it is damaged it will directly damage the Head of the engine..
So better buy a new 1 as soon as its having sum problems.
This part costed me 5200 for A Jeep..
and abt 3000k to install

My uncle got a new one installed on his Khyber. It cost 3000, with installation.

Hello!
its a turbine for engine which circulates water inside engine........getting it from radiator......!
thats the one of the most imp thing in engine and imp of all in engine cooling system...!

and i think its one of the reasons of the cooling problems with cars in Pakistan..when the water pump is not replaced in time.

as a general rule....the water pump should be replaced (together with timing belt) at or around 150K for normal driving conditions and around 100k for severe driving conditions.

the best way to do it is to have it replaced together with the timing belt change.
