Was I sold fake Samsung LED by a reputed outlet in ISB?

Asalamualikum.
Yesterday I purchased 40" Samsung LED from friends electronics blue area which is known for selling original products.They also have outlets in Pindi.The model I purchased was 40J5500 for 67k.The salesman said it's original nd has 1 year warranty but didn't give me Samsung warranty.When I came home and opened the box there was no warranty.searched Internet and come to know that Samsung Pakistan has given few steps to identify original product.
I called Samsung Pakistan they asked me product model and serial number.The reply was that my TV is on their list but if there is no warranty card and authorised distributor logo then they can't take any responsibility for it to be original. They also said that the price for this model is 72k.
I called friend electronics, the guy on the phone said that they give their own warranty for Samsung products He also mentioned that the Samsung tvs they sell are made in Egypt but the one I got is made in Vietnam.

Now iam confused about the product being original and the warranty they are providing .

you can easily tell original from counterfeit by the menu system, the chinese replica's have very crappy menu's, most probably the shop sold you a gray market (smuggled) TV

Can you post a picture of the back side of the TV ? where it is written MADE in veitnam, etc.

You TV is probably Original one, but as told by other members, it may be smuggled and now its without warranty. Any warranty given by local shops is theri own local warranty.

As i have said they are smuggled tv, they have no warranty and God forbid any problem occurs and you tell to shopkeeper he will say take it to samsung service centre, if you show them your warranty card they'll say it as fake as they donot legally sale these models in Pakistan.

If its smuggled then there is no warranty-period

Ask the shop keeper to give you warranty card or give tv back and get one with warranty

or if you are happy with the purchase get the shopkeeper to write on his letter head that he will entertain warranty--not recommended

I bought a non warranted smuggled f5000 for 52k back in 2013 when same warranted one was selling around 65k from outlet. If warranted one was for 71k, then even smuggled one for 67k is xtremely xpensive. Mostly shopkeepers giv thre own warranty especially big stores in karachi but dnt knw about such shops in islamabad but i do rmmbr they gave a warranty card in buyers name and it was a hard visa type card. Go back to the shop as from the picture u showed its not genuine, may be a diffrnt company make but not genui e samsung sold in pakistan. Try contacting the shop for warranty card claim. I hope u got a reciept while buying? I hav seen ppl even say i havent see u before in my life

just scan the QR code with any QR app on your mobile. It will take you to some website , if it takes you to samsung original website, then your product is Genuine Samsung (but not Samsung Pakistan, so no local official warranty)

Called the outlet ...will get 1 year warranty by them which they are providing by themselves.the guy told me a long story for y they ain't giving samsung pakistan warranty

tell them since it's not official warranty you should get a discount on the unit, these gray market units are cheaper than official warranty products

i guess you are new in islamabad because none of these shops in blue area I.e Friends Corporation, Hafeez Electronics and Afzal Electronics keep the original. they sell original on demand but are selling import custom tvs with their own shop warranty thats about it.

if you want to buy original with 1 year SAMSUNG PAKISTAN warranty then buy it from a SAMSUNG STORE, just like Sony

same model if custom import will cost you 10k less and same will cost you 10k more from SAMSUNG or SONY retail shop with Local Nation-wide & International company warranty.

Bear in mind that there are 70% chances that an import tv is not even launched in pakistan or will not be launched so even if you claim shop warranty they wont be able to repair or get needed parts for you.

Bhai I'm very sorry to know but you should return this TV and get a refund! These shops have back door workshops where they fix those TVs. I would suggest you to goto authorized dealer of Samsung, one I know of is on Muree road, buy your TV from there and have more peace of mind

we have 3 in the house and from samsung dealership all 3 have different country of origin,. Egypt, Vitenam & Malaysia, So far we faced no issues.
may be because we switch the wall outlet off every night.
