Using STP fuel treatment in 2.0D

hi dear all
I am going to use STP fuel treatment and injector cleaner for the first time in my 2001 2.0D corolla full fuel tank. what problems can i face after this, coz some people say it may choke the diesel filter. i'm also going to change the fuel filter but i want to know whether it should be changed before fuel treatment or after. And one more thing.....should i drive the car right after pouring this STP or not? if yes how much running should be there to check the performance?
Since i'm going to use STP for the first time so i do not want to take the risk to stop on the way due to trouble of a sudden choked fuel filter.....hope u understand this

Bro I just used some STP deisel treatment on my 1991 Pajero and had absolutely no problems what so ever,
I did not change the fuel filter or oil filter etc, just poured it in the tank at the service station and got her filler right up,
it's been around 2 weeks so far and I have experienced no problems what so ever, there has been a noticable improvement in fuel consumption, acceleration is marginally better, starting is much better,
if you can find the original STP (there are many, many, many fakes out there) just go for it without a second thought.
You just need to use it when you're getting your tank filled up to max capacity and then just drive around as normal.

absolutely, there is nothing to worry if you are using this. i am also uning it in my charade 86. it gives very good performance both acceleration and average wise.

i ve used in my corolla 2.0D saloon current shape.... my car is almost new so i didn't felt any difference but ur car have done more mileage so it wud help in fuel consumption

The best place to buy STP is from Dubai, and since you're based in Karachi and Dubai then nothing better,
I buy a few bottles every time I visit Dubai or ask someone to get them for me from any reputed accessories shop in Dubai,
I use the treatment once a year and find that to be satisfactory for me. If i come across anyone reputable in Karachi I would certainly let you know but so far haven't found anyone who I can really trust here. I find it far more convenient to ask friends to carry a bottle in from Dxb.

i have bought 236 ml bottle from metro islamabad today for 210 Rs. As far as my knowledge is concerned, the products at metro are original. Anyway, thanx for reply

Yeah getting it from Metro is a great idea, I also believe they have original products, alternatively you can try Dubai Autos, I have heard they hold STP and that it's original, however i have never visited them personally.
Do let us know what results you get from using the STP.

i ve bought from dubai too....but i ve found the reliable shop to buy STP products from here...they sell in gud price n they r original...i get it for 210rs too...the best is complete fuel system cleaner which is for petrol car...i ve used once in my markx n felt a lot of differences in accelaration n better fuel consumption

damn ur fuel average is really gud....my 2.0D have done 23k km n from full tank which is 48 or 49litre n do 550km to 600km depend on the driving...my home car is 2.0D 2006 n its doin 450km in full tank....btw new corolla got bigger tank than the previous model

I have never checked the fuel consumption by consuming the whole fuel in the tank, but on weekly basis, it is driven 210 km in 1100 Rs now a days which comes out to be 15 on long route at speed 100+. And with AC on it decreases to 14.5 km per litre. While in city driving it is 12 with AC on and 13 without AC(this is what i have checked many times).
But remember that I change oil after every 1500 km (probably no one do this), and regularly clean air filter after one month or 1000 km whichever comes first. also thanx to previous owner who maintained it in such a superb condition.

now coming to the original topic.................poured today stp in fuel tank, driven the car about 20km and did not feel any difference. but I hope the fuel average will be better on long drives.

my car get regular service from toyota south after every 5000km....i ve never took for long route only inner city driving with a lot of traffic

Its complete name is STP diesel injector cleaner and yes it is different for petrol engines. But I think u can also find this easily for petrol engine. If STP brand is not available then liquimoly can also be used, but it is expensive.
