UMRAH TRIP and SIGHTS OF SAUDI ARABIA

I went for Umrah in Ramadan from my place i.e. Sharourah so thought of sharing the pics of the journey and the places in Saudi Arabia. As I live in a distant place away from Jeddah and Riyadh, the pics and places will be new even to Pakwheelers in Saudi Arabia.

ROUTE:
Sharourah ---Najran --- Khamis Mashit --- Mahayel --- Makkah --- Jeddah --- Madinah Munawarrah

The journey is divided into following segments:

SHAROURAH-NAJRAN SEGMENT:
(Distance 360Km, all desert with tortuous snake like road, not a single tree or a single house, Average Speed 140 KPH coz u can spot police from many kilometers)

NAJRAN-KHAMIS MASHIT (Distance 270Km, Ascending hilly terrain, takes about 2.5 Hours, Average speed 100KPH)

KHAMIS MASHIT-MAKKAH (Distance 7000Km, Descending hilly road for around 250Km, then plain road along the coast of Red Sea, Average Speed is 120KPH)

MAKKAH-JEDDAH (Distance 70Km, Average speed 120KPH, Strict Radar check)

JEDDAH-MADINAH (Distance 420 Km, Average Speed 130KPH).

Started early morning from Sharourah after Sehri.

Snake like road creeping on the sand dunes. Some sand dunes are quite high and there are steep ascends and descends.

Speed limit is 100KPH but everyone moving at 140KPH and above.
On this road there are no head-on collisions but all are rolling of cars and the accidents are fatal.

All Desert, u will not see a single house or tree on this 360Km stretch of road exept one Petrol pump and a few Traffic Police Stations.

Look at the sand dunes running along the road like hills. They have a pinkish color of sand over here.

WE just reached NAJRAN, covered only 360KMs.

Najran is a city in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the frontier with Yemen. It is the capital of Najran Province. Najran is one of the fastest-growing cities in the kingdom.

Najran city is famous for its archeological significance. It once was the home to an old Christian community that came into conflict with the Jewish rulers of Yemen, which ended in their being massacred. Later there was a religious discussion between them and our prophet Muhammad(PBUH), which ended with signing a treaty between the two parties. Most of the people of the region converted later to Islam.
Najran was an important early town situated along the trade route which historically connected South Arabia with the North. The Town was mentioned in a Sabean text dating to the 7th centery B.C. It is the town of the Seven Walls during the aborted Roman campaingn against Southern Arabia in the 1st century A.D. Aside from the main settlement at Alokhdood, several Pre-Islamic sites are knew along the Wadi Najran

Alhamdolillah I go for umrah after 2-3 months and m going again on this coming Friday. Now i dont become Ganja, just do QASAR.

NAJRAN-KHAMIS MASHIT SEGMENT
(Distance 270Km, Ascending hilly terrain, takes about 2.5 Hours, Average speed 100KPH)

This is a hilly road and one should drive carefully. U will see many BADDU driving their Camrys and Hiluxes at 160KPH but that is madness ( I used to do that also but now I m no more a fool).

This kind of costruction was being followed in this area called Asir and these houses are called ASIREE houses.

mashAllah that is very gud of u that u go for umrah in 2 to 3 months cool and the again getting of ganja haha i can understand becuz i have been to umrah for just once but i remebr the days i had hair till my ears and my forst umrah main porra ganja wo masla nahi tha verey boday laughed even i laughed at myself but getting from the next day on was uf dont ask i mean kuch hota hi nahi hai sir per ball niklnay to do bhai sir jo hai na mera white say red hogaya tha on the way back to pakistna lol kher keep the pix coming
