My car is 38k Driven and I wanted to change the Tyres. I'm looking for Yokohama Advance DB V552 in Lahore. Anyone have any idea from where can I purchase it?
Also please help me understand should I install 205/55/R16 or should I go for 215/55/R16. I'm confused here, I already did a comparison on the internet but I'm not sure will it affect the performance, Fuel Average, and overall driving experience or not?
Thanks in advance.

Faisal Town (near flats) there are more than 10 shops.. prices are bonkers though, 27500rs per tyre.

Please also comment regarding my question on the tyre size. Thanks

I've also sen people recommending Continental UC6, Please someone share experience or difference between UC6 drive and advance DB V552 drive.
Which one is best in terms of comfort and road grip?

UC6 is a better all rounder than V552. But it can’t beat the Advan in road noise / comfort.
215/55 is also ok if you really want to increase width, meaning you need slightly more grip at the cost of slightly higher fuel consumption.

UPDATE
I searched a lot on the types and found these options that people talking about. Can anyone confirm which one is the best bet in terms of overall experience, comfort and noise.
1. Advan DB v552
2. Pirelli p7
3. bluearth es32
4. Michelin Primacy 4
5. Continental UC6

What is your usage like, paved roads or mixed with broken roads?
If paved roads, then you can go for V552 or Primacy 4.
If mixed roads like in Karachi, then UC6 is better.
Get from authorised dealers and with fresh manufacturing dates (preferably not more than 9-12 months old manufacturing).

Mixed road. Where can I find the official distributors in Lahore?

ES32 give comfort+mileage+longevity - which Advan V552 lacks. Even after 25000km of usage tread on mines still 80-90% which means they can easily do 60-80,000 whereas you'd be lucky if you advan lasts 40,000

If you can get Michelins i.e: budget wise.. go for it you will never ask for another tyre!

I looking to change tyres for my 2015 Altis 1.6.

I drive mostly on paved roads mixed with broken roads and potholes. Also drive on GT road and motoways.

What would you recommend the best?

I heard Advan dB's are too soft for potholes.

Also how to check the tyres if they are original, not smuggled?

Thanks in advance

Search zams Lahore on Facebook. They're authorised distributor and importer of Yokohama in Pakistan.
Just get bluearth or advan fleva in the desired size.
Advan db only if you want a very comfortable and noiseless tyres, but it wears out quickly.

Nope they're too soft for side impacts or sharp objects. If you can take care of that then there won't be any issue. Get bluearth gt, bluearth es32 or alliance al30/03x (you will be lucky if you find them). Alliance is sub brand of Yokohama and tyres in this size are super good, very grippy soft tyres.
A guy at neela gumbad Lahore named as victor tyres was selling it few days back.

I second this. Get from Zams Lahore (Yokohama) and you can get better value from Blueearth GT than V552. If you want to try Continental which is equally good, then get it from tire point and get UC6.

We are using Falken ziex ze 914 in gli Dec 2016 and gli Dec 2017 . They were half in price of the expensive tyre brands and are doing the job very well. Less road noise and a very good comfort level. Also in the said gli auto 2016 we are keeping 33 psi pressure in all four tyres because roads under use are all okay. The car is giving fuel average of 16+ on long route.

Have used Yokohama advan db in gli 2015 and Michlen energy savers in Japanese corolla axio. Also used dunlop tyres in gli 2007 and gli 2010.The Falken tyres are almost same in comfort grip handling and road noise but cost almost half.
I am not sure about their current price but may be we got a good deal then.

Moreover a cousin is using following Chinese tyres in his gli 2016. I drove his car and found the tyres very comfortable and quiet.I took a picture of the tyre.

About the size of tyre it is very wise to stick to the recomended tyre size. A bigger or smaller size will definitely have adverse effect on suspension of the car after a couple of thousand mileage or after a trip to some bumpy road.

I forgot to mention above that if you or someone else decides to go with econo tyres and make saving from his expected budget allocated for the expensive brands then you or he should spend some amount as sadqah from his said saving on the poor and needy. Allah Paks' help, blessing and protection would then be with you as an added and best benefit.

Brands highlight that tyre is the most crucial part because its your vehicles's contact point with the road therefore they urge you to spend more and more on tyres. Just a marketing gimmick. Yes there is a difference of 19/20 as we say in Urdu. But the econo brands are also equally into research and development. They also know the types of rubbers and wires used in manufacturing. No need to fret much on tyres. Make a saving and spend the same on the best use i.e. sadaqah.

While I agree with most of your points, I beg to differ on this one point that brands vs budget tires performance difference is 19/20. I will also say that only the brand doesn’t matter, the specific ‘model’ matters, and the performance difference in objective testing and comparisons is quite significant. Even if we ignore the grip difference in high performance driving situation, the braking distance, and aquaplaning performance can mean the difference between a good save and a life threatening crash.
So tires should always be compared model vs model in their performance. Some budget brand models may also be very good in the above safety areas and there is no harm going with them. These safety points cannot and should not be compromised.
Comfort, noise and fuel economy is personal choice, if your budget doesn’t allow, then these can be given less priority. However, they should always have less priority over safety.

Sir thanks for your kind response. You raised a very valid point of safety concern and discussed with professional approach . I was about to mention this one also in above posts but to keep the write up brief I delibrately ignored. First thing first ; sir please re-assure yourself that nothing at all can protect your life more than a sadaqah.

That said, I am no tyre guru and cannot say with certainity whether it is the tread pattern of tyre or its rubber/wires material that determine the braking distance or may be brakes alone have major role in this regard. However the wet grip definitely varies from pattern to pattern. Our importers are also very wise they import tyre models having reasonable performnce in all aspects.

I frequently travel on M5 part of the Motorway where several accidents have occured due to overspeeding and tyre bursts. I humbly suspect cat eyes fixed on all lanes of this Motorway to be the cause of tyre bursts. A well known accident on M5 was of Hyundai Sonata. An expensive sedan having quality tyres fitted from the factory or even if the owner had got them replaced he would definitely have gone for the better ones. Still the car lost control all of a sudden and hit the road barrier while cruising at the speed of 140 thereby killing all the passengers. My guess is that some cat eyes put a cut on tyres during lane changes. Allah Pak knows best. So from the example we can easily assess safety capability of quality tyres.

The point is that we should not go for the BMWs and Mercedeses of the tyres rather settle for the Toyotas, Suzukis,Hondas and MGs from amogst the tyre brands.

The dealers sometimes say they don't have 205/55/R16 and if I don't get this OEM size then should I go for upgraded size (215/55/R16) or stick with OEM?
I don't know what impact will it have on the car if I change the size to 215 instead of 205.
I already did comparison on internet but don't know practically the impact.

How many kms done on current tires. They look pretty worn out. Edit: just saw 38K in your first post. In that case the damage is most probably from the cat eyes on the motorway.
215 is also ok, you should have no significant differences in fuel consumption or grip, when comparing same tire pattern.
