Tyre Size Change/Upgrade

Assalam Alaikum
I have 2005 Corolla Altis . It came with 175/70R14 tyre on the front and 185/65R14 on back.

But when I bought it 2 years back it had 15inch rim now I want to know which is the best upgrade for 14 to 15 inch rim keeping in mind factory specs.
I searched online it gave me these options for upgrading

185/60R15 and 195/65R15 are the tyres that most of tha people use in this corolla these both are good options.IMO 195/65R15 is better

Use 195/60 R 15 side wall almost same n comfort too. Only speedo meter will give slight difference. Grip will be improved.
U will not regret.

I would suggest to not change the rims.

If they are currently on 15" rims, as you have mentioned, stick with them.

IMO, go for 185/65/R15 tyres in all the 4 tyres.

175/xx/R15 may be avoided.

Its width may suffice front tyres, but will be 10mm smaller for rear tyres.

Rear requires 185 mm width, even on stock 14" rims.

195 mm width will make ride / steering slightly stiff and bumpy.

That width is very less for Corollla. Consider 185/65R15 or 195/65R15 they both are very good

In General Eurostar , there are two options available 195/65R15 and 175/65R15. For 185/60R15 i have to switch to some other product

Instead of 185/60/R15, prefer 185/65/R15, and in this size, almost all well-renowned and reputed brands offer passenger cars tyres, in one / more series.

If you can afford to switch brand, then IMO, go for Bridgestone tyres. Value for money tyres IMO.

Otherwise, Dunlop can also be considered.

Michelin, Pirelli, are better brands than Bridgestone, and expensive.

Continental is another good option.

If i use smaller tyres in front then will not it disturb stability??

In the placard mentioning recommended tyre sizes, you already have 175 mm wide tyres in front, that's why I recommended it.

For front, 175 or 185 both can work, however for rear, 185 is the min.

In any case, rear tyres must be equal to, or wider than the front tyres. Front tyres cannot be wider than the rear.

Nope. Its not the case. However small and negligible, but size is different.

If you want same height and total dia. of tyre, select the same tyre size at both front and back.

When tyre size, etc. will be different, then however identical 02 different tyre sizes may seem, there will be differences, like I have mentioned above.

I was also in the same process, when I was looking for tyres for my Vitz. It took me almost 04-05 months to finalise them, but later, I realised there are other, more important things in life, rather than tyre size, rims, etc.

Too much thinking, or over-thinking, takes one's precious time and energies away.

I would suggest to not take that much tension, and opt the same tyre size,185 mm wide tyres at both front and back and be at ease.
