its a 36 km route...khairpur or baghdad road is the route road conditions is good

2 hrz drive...u have to take main KLP road...when u reach Ahmedpur u have to take left nd take guidence from ppl there

This is a good intinerary, especially in this season. My replies to some of your queries above.

From Lahore it takes about 4:30~5hours (about 320kms) depending upon your driving style and traffic conditions, to reach Multan. I would suggest avoiding short route from Khanewal to Lodhran. If you want to bypass Multan then there is a newly constructed road just before entering Multan to your left which links to the Bahawlapur Road. From Multan, Bahawalpur is about 1 hour (about 100kms). As soon as you cross Sutlej bridge there is a big round about; the road to left heads into Bahawalpur city and the road towards right leads to Karachi. Ahmedpur Sharqia is roughtly 50kms from here; another 40mins. drive. Before entering Ahmedpur Sharqia, there is an overhead bridge. For going to Dera Nawab, you have to leave the main highway here and take side road to the left. From here it is about 30kms to Derawar. The road was good (about 3 years ago) but you will have to ask for directions. Some portion of the road is single lane as well.

In order to visit Lal Suhanra, you will have to take left on the round about after Sutlej bridge and into the Bahawalpur city. Take the road which goes to Bahawalnagar. Lal suhanra is about 20~25 minutes away. Some portion of this road is under construction but passable. I suggest you to visit Chanan Pir as well. For this, go to Yazman Mandi from Bahawalpur or there is a direct route as well when you return from Derawar. But that depends upon the time that you have. There is another road which takes you to Lal Suhanra directly from Yazman. This road passes through very dense jungle along abbasia canal and is worth seeing.

In Multan you can stay in Ramada (bit expensive), in sindbad hotel or there are a number of guest houses in almost all localities. You can find them on old Bahawalpur road near tariq road or high court area or near Chungi No. 9 and gulgasht/pir khurshid colony.

if u visit taj hotel...its bbq is very gud nd dont forget to have kulfi after the dinner...
if u want to eat chinese or other then desi u can visit la taska 4 sesons....

for shoping the embroidery suits hand made...bahawalpuri khusa
well its impossible to go darbar mahal...if u have refrence then u can go but alone no females... nd noor mahal u cant visit till mughrib...as its winter now a days...days very short...so they want allow after 6 or 7 pm...

where as pak continental is in the mid of city...where u can have easy access for everything (food, shopping) etc etc

From Uch, you can go to Multan via Panjnad, Ali pur and Muzaffargarh as well. But be prepared for a bumpy road and sugarcane trolleys. From Panjnad, Multan is roughly 100kms and takes about 2~3hours.

For food you can find KFC, Hardees, Pizza Hut etc if you like international. You can visit Shahjahan, Bundu Khan, Tasty for Pakistani. You can try Multani Chanp as well near Multan Ghantaghar.

Security situation in these areas is good Alhamdolillah. Just take standard precautions. On highways be extra cautious while crossing populated areas or passing heavy vehicles. Slow moving traffic, pedestarians, and trucks all are very unpredicitve on these roads.

Security in all these areas is good. Just take standard precautions. Avoid travelling during dark especially on minor roads. People are generally friendly and hospitable. Be courtious.

we've discussed every thing before This thread. I'll come from my village which is 160 km back from multan at multan mianwali road.. ..
I've already missed 2 trips with Nomi bhai but This time i don't want to miss This opportunity. I've skiped a marriage for This trip
