Travel cheaper is not a trick its a habit which needs to be developed, camping is cheaper in ny travel option considering you know where to camp at the places. Secondly keeping you luggage to bare minimum is also a habit one needs to develop overtime. Its about preference.

It is an open end question where we can only accumulate experiences and practice them

@rehankillbill good initiative!

Here's my two bit...with every trip, one must first set a budget which should be in line with the objective of the trip. There are always options that should be considered...do your home work. And always compare. This wonderful forum is full of experiences that should be a starting point for any pre trip planning. That's how I discovered Pakwheels and i have never looked back. And if there are still some grey areas, ask one of the gurus here. You are sure to get prompt feedback and valuable information that could help shape your trip.

Remember, kharcha can be turned up or down and it is almost always in your hands. With so much info out there, it is becoming difficult to discover uncharted territory but frankly it is not impossible. So go ahead, plan your next trip and try and do something that only you have done first...the rest will follow :grinning:

@rehankillbill great start

the best started with exposure of MUFTA party opportunist. pigeon started dancing from beginning.

:dove: for tips on travelling. :pig: ironic mufta class :chipmunk:

plan a vacation trip with time frame specially when travelling by-road. Check for road conditions from bus & truck drivers commuting over your planned route.

accommodation locations depend upon your travel companion(s) i.e; family, solo , group. priorities change accordingly.

15 October to 15 January every year. There are serious smog issues after sunset between in Punjab. check closure and active roads updates from Motorways police in that time slot.

more to follow....

For cheap: dont go on weekends. Dont go in peak season(may to july) in northern areas. Prepare 2 meals . Eat one as breakfast in somewhere while traveling. If you have your own car then keep a small gas cylinder and things to cook ur own.
Eat simple if you do hoteling. Raw materials will be cheap every where if you can cook.
With family dont take risk of camping just control unnecessory shoping and eating mutton while you can eat dal roti or keema .
Plan your night stay areas açording to price before you travel. Like kalam night stay is 5 times costly compared to behrain etc...
To enjoy snowy areas buy snow chains for once and all and get tension free for rest of your future trips .

Watch tour requirements of planned point on youtube. ( Car /jeep with rent, accomodation and food, weather, personal safety etc)
Keep a copy of fresh tourist map.
Use credit card for fuel so you can pay later.
So list goes on..
Most imp is himmat. Ap me josh or himmat ho to Allah ki madad b sath hoti hay or asy asy asbab hojaty k bad me yakeen b ni ata.

well in a road trip max cost incurred is in hoteling... if one manages a camping road trip that is best... one can plan road trips such that min nights r spend in a hotel. off season travel is another way to reduce cost.... avoiding rush hours..... and another tip is that one visits off the beaten destinations......

as for trekking trips max cost is of Guide/porters... we usually try to minimize porters by carrying our own rucksacks. porters tu per stage letay hain par guides per day. so u can limit number of days... but all this is a tradeoff... that u mite not be worth it in the end so it varies from person to person....

sir please provide supportive evidence to this.

since built up of RCD & Coastal highway. I have been travelling solo & with family to Uthal, Khuzdar, Turbat, Pasni, makran Gawadar, Ormara, Ziarat, Pasheen, Fort Sandeman (zhob) Taftan - Chaman border.

i plan top up tank and move out with only essential stuff .. yes just like that

in past 15 years i never encountered any Law Enforcement check post suggesting such biased non-sense. yes there are precautionary warnings when crossing towns check points, as to reach destination before sunset.

I speak persian & urdu fluently also my cnic has address of Islamabad. & Karachi.

radical terrorist are exceptions .. they are present even in heart of Islamabad at Lal Masjid

lol ....

fingers crossed your relatives or acquaintance are not reading this ..... otherwise be ready for them to try this vishesh tipni on you.

On a serious note, best to have all camping gears and a good 4x4 as mostly people spend huge $$ on hotels and rental/hire jeeps.

in my opinion, one should avoid luxuries and "TASHANS" ,emphasis upon simplicity...another useful thing which i learned... the more (like minded) people the less expense....and most important.. keep in touch with pakwheels travel gurus

First step is to set a budget and Avoid luxury hotels, Eat simple food, Use public transport, Travel in group. Don't go to bars, night clubs etc.
Recently we traveled to Karachi/ Omara/ Gwadar from Lahore in just 32000 per head :slight_smile: (6 Nights stay)

If you are going through agent, make sure your booked hotel is in the main area of city, otherwise you will have to pay heavy amount for taxi, (transportation is little expensive in turkey).
