Toyota Rav4 Hybrid 2500 CC Vs Honda Vezel e-HEV Play Model

Assalam-o-Alaikum, everyone,

I am in the process of buying a new car and would really appreciate some honest feedback. I’m particularly interested in crossover SUVs and am currently considering the following two options:

Honda Vezel e:HEV Play Model (Price around 140 to 150 lac)
Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (2500 CC) (175 lac)
Initially, I had my sights set on the Honda Vezel e:HEV, but I recently came across the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, which has also piqued my interest. Both vehicles seem appealing, but I am aware that they are relatively rare in Pakistan.

I would greatly appreciate guidance on the following aspects to help me make an informed decision:

Key Considerations:

1. Performance: How do these two vehicles compare in terms of engine power, fuel efficiency, and overall driving experience?
2. Maintenance: Which one is easier and more cost-effective to maintain in Pakistan?
3. Resale Value: Which vehicle holds better resale value in the local market?
4. Parts Availability: Are spare parts easily available and reasonably priced for either model?

Additional Notes:

I am a huge fan of JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars and am not interested in locally assembled or Chinese brands.

Your insights and experiences, especially regarding JDM cars, would be incredibly helpful.

I would say Honda Vezel. Body parts and some mechanical parts won't be an issue because of the local HR-V. RAV-4 has barely any support here.

Rav 4 is leading with peace of mind as Honda hybrids has poor resale market in Pakistan also reliability issues .

Rav4 indeed is good. But the issue is maintaince parts. very less support here so far. So I am bit consfue either i should go with it or not? As far as i know very less in pakistan market. So what do you say?

any idea about reslae value? I see lots of add egarding Vezel e-Hev Play hybrid. All people are seeling just by driving 6k or 10k. No idea why they are selling so quick

The newer hybrids don't feature the problematic DCT. They shifted towards CVT's for the hybrids too.

Performance wise RAV4 wins as it got bigger displacement, does 15-17km/l despite being bigger in size compared to Vezel. Vezel meanwhile got better fuel economy which does 18-20km/l or more.

Maintenance wise RAV4 should be cheaper to maintain as Toyota's parts are generally cheaper than Honda, availability wise I believe RAV4 should be easier as it got same powertrain of Camry so servicing from IMC wouldn't be hard.

Resale wise we have to see 2 things, which one is easier to sell and which one leaves you most money.
Judging by market dynamics, better value proposition is RAV4 since it got Toyota badge although currently it would be hard to sell may change with time but Harriers/Venzas are here for long so they are kinda struggling, meanwhile Vezel would be easier to sell compared to RAV4.

Parts availability would be a bit tough for RAV4 and Vezel's not that different too. You can source them from parts vendor.

Both have extremely dead resale , some seller is gonna get lucky , they'll sell there Vezel or rav4 after listing on pakwheels for MONTHS, and you'll be listing these cars for months and months and selling at a heavy loss ,If you value your hard earned bucks I'd suggest to buy Haval H6 HEV, or Santa Fe HEV if hybrid is your only consideration both will be brand new with warranties

True. i checked adds on pakwheel. New Vezel have low reslae while there are no Rav4 listing except one or 2 which are fresh import. People are not seeling Rav4 right now. just uying and drive

New gen santa fe launch is also in books, I'd say wait for a few months and get that

I can suggest you 2023 Prius or Corolla Cross 2021-2022.

These are relatively new vehicles so resale wise can't really say anything. However my judgment says these imported hybrids can be struggling in future as local hybrids are penetrating market.
