Brother if this grade is not suting, then gradually upgrade, instead of abrupt jumping. I would propose following:
- 5w-30: Total Quartz 9000 Future Series (best value for money), Kixx or PSO
- 5w-40: Fully Synthetic engine oil by Shell, Kixx or Caltex
- 5w-50: Fully synthetic engine oil by Kixx
10w grade must be the very last option, and in 10w-40, ZIC means best value for money to me.
If still the issue does not get resolved, and there is engine oil consumption, then your vehicle's engine is done. Adding more and more thick oils will only hide the actual problem, but not resolve it. Ultimate solution will be rebuild / overhaul, or swap.
