I'm looking to buy a toyota estima lucida/emina. I found an ad on pakwheels for an Estima Emina with a 3CT engine (not the efi version 3CT-E). I wanted to ask what's the parts availability like for the engine and transmission. I live in Islamabad btw. Is it a reliable engine? I don't want to make too frequent trips to a mechanic.
I also wanted to ask about it's transmission. The seller sent me a picture of the engine code stamped on the engine. It also had the transmission code which was A45DF. I checked online and found out it's a 4 speed automatic with lockup torque converter and electronic controls with 4WD but the seller said the car is RWD when I asked him. I also checked and found out that although this engine was offered in the car from the factory however this transmission did not come in an Estima from the factory so the engine has probably been swapped, right? The seller is claiming it's on the original engine. The transmissions that were offered on the Estima in this configuration were A46DF (AWD) and A46DE (RWD).
Also, he said that the turbo on the engine was blown so he took out all the parts related to the turbo and made it N/A. How much would it cost to get all the parts to get the turbo back and running? And even if the engine and transmission have been swapped already, is the car/van still worth buying? Will it cause any issues? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
