Dear Members,

I own Gli as a second car, it is done with only 8000kms on petrol (no cng kit installed) but I am quite unsatisfied with its performance. It seems under power, pick is annoying, rpm drops on turning and sometimes the engine turns off because of this.On the other hand its average is about 10 km/ltr within the city which seems unsatisfactory too.My 2007 xli is far better in every regard then this piece of junk.It seems that this whole series is defected thts why Toyota replaced it so quickly to save its reputation.

I humbly request the same model users to give their kind opinions on this issue and do compare its performance and fuel consumption with their vehicle as well.

Regards
Rao Asad Abdur Rehman.

Replaced current corolla series with what? As far as I know new shape of corolla in pak is not due till 2015

kept new shape xli and returned it after 48 hours, it was acting like queen marry II, body is bigger engine is smaller its the only 1.3 corrolla on sale in the world i think rest everywhere its 1.8,2,2.2 and 1.6L. went for city n its a kick @$$ car in 1.3L category.(though its not a safe car, no safety beams anywhere sides back front even) ill go fr a crola any day if its 1.6 manual or 1.8 auto (old Altis)

10km/l is good fuel average in city. Press as lightly throttle as possible. Since standard corolla comes with 1.6L engine all over the worlds.Due to more weight small 1.3L engines takes more RPM hence fuel average decreases.

Can u pls elaborate how city is unsafe than rolla?

Sent from my MT11i

Guys any idea of performance of corolla 2010 in CNG, i am going for it but heard that in CNG it has some issues in engine head, pls advise

i dont think corolla is underpower it should give at least 12kms and on long route it should give 16km/l if you maintain 110km/h this is my personal observation
if your car is dropping rpm then get it tunned from toyota 3s dealer and replace your airfilter is required and use shell helix ultra or any other fully synthetic engine you will feel the difference

there are many threads in cng section about this topic

thats why i hat xli and gli .. get city , civic or altis .. they are the best mid-size sedans

I own at 2010 Gli too
About underpower, no comments, I think it has good pickup
then again, i don't drive a Reborn daily :stuck_out_tongue:

about fuel average
in city, AlhamduLillah, with AC at all times it is giving me about 14Km/L
but using light food and changing gears before 3000 RPM

didnt take it for long route yet.. :)

the replacement of 2009 with 2011 eco...hope u understand

@mujtaba.... with these specs u got an exceptional piece MashAllah....14km/l is amazing rather unbelievable...is this avg shown by the meter or u have calculated it manually...if so what does the meter shows..

city and civic are a failure because of their less road clearance, high valued parts, less reliable engine than Toyota...while Altis is ofcourse an uneconomical car for frequently usage in city...so now what is left, is xli or gli and other out of market cars like lancer and nissan ....

Exactly ..thts the point of concern tht my car is almost new and i use geniune toyota motoroil and filter...even then its performance is not good...if u have anyother suggestion thn it wud b appreciated

Which oil you are using Toyota has two oils one is Petron20w50 and other is 10w30 in tin packing
I will recommend you to use shell helix ultra I’m using thisoil in both corolla and Honda city and results are very good
As far as mileage and performance is concerned get it tunedfrom Toyota 3s dealer and do tell them mileage and pick is poor ………and add someliters of high octane about 10ltr it will increase both mileage andacceleration for sure

While installing the fog lights bumper was removed and the cross beam(i wont call it a beam as its thickness was not more thn 3MM) i saw nothing infront to stop the impact except a soft bumper. the curve on the tyres inside the bonnet is made of flexible plastic, at sides when i opened the doors for sound deadening found nothing just a sheet outside and plastic inside. at the rear search the thread in spottings when a corolla gli banged the city frm back n it came till the front seats. at rear it has a bumper n then it comes the spare tyre NO beam again thats y its so quick n economical. for more info ask any denter. im not saying crola is good but its lil stronger than city.

have u tried the ac of altis ?xli gli altis has the same rotary disposable compressors made in THARPARKAR Pakistan while honda is still providing Thailand made units. how will u explain a 1.4million plus car with no abs and power windows?anyways...

1:u said its a failure? yes it is failure in an area where u might live.

2:whats the price of a corrolas windscreen?oil filter?air filter?bumpers? brother m sorry to say but price is almost the same if not less.

3:u want to say that hondas have unrelieable engines? they run for at least 300,000km plus without overhauling if driven by a normal human.

2http://automobiles.honda.com/mile-makers/2 ( as a gift he got a 2012 accord, when will xli owner get a camry 2012 after ruunning it on thandi gas for one million miles?)

P.S: Altis 1.6 is more economical in local and long than 1.3 L XL/GL thingy
PEACE!

well this is a fact we have to admit the engine inside xli/gli is not made for corolla but here in pakistan market share of corolla xli/gli is on top so if they change engine to 1.5 or 1.6 it's market share will drop which indus can't afford
what ever we say every second or third car on road is xli(with no abs and power windows)or gli
