Brother can you tell me who recommends you 20W50 and what is odo reading? I am also using 20W50 because of stupid mechanics but want to switch thin oil. My odo is 160k

Nobody recommended me bro:slight_smile:,i am using it for 3 years,my vehicle is 140 on oddo now,20w50 grad is best as for as paki weather is concerned,it is also good in winters too for older vehicles like 15 to 18 years old.

Ask out your nearest toyota dealership what oil does this brand new corolla comes factory filled with? It’s Toyota Petron 20W50 from 1300cc to 1800cc all roll out from factory with same oil.

Is it recommended in owners manual also?

Bro
There many places where this same weather is present and 20W50 is not recommended by any manufacturer as per my research. It is too thick for the engine and economy lowers and wear and tear increases by using that much thick oil even on older car.

Corolla user manual recommends 10W30 or 20W50. This 16 yr old corolla obviously will have a lot of mileage so Toyota Genuine 20W50 is best for it.

Brand is not fixed but 20W50
I will now shift to 10W40
If all good Then 5W30 recommended by toyota manual

Brand is not fixed mean?are you using different oil brands at every oil change?this practice is not good for engine at all bro...try only one brand for your vehicle, experiments will lead to destructive results for your vehicle's engine:slight_smile:

Bro experts are saying 20w50 is not good for our engines. I want to go to factory recommended or closer
