Toyota Corolla 1.6 Model 2013 Oil Recommendation

Hello Everyone,
I need help regarding engine oil. I have had been using Toyota recommended oil(petron) in my Corolla 1.6 model 2013. I change my oil every 5000km. I bought my car zero meter. Now mileage of my car has crossed 140k...I want to switch to synthetic oil I.e. Total 9000T. Can i use it or not?
Reason for switching to synthetic is to extend maintainence of my car since alot of opex goes into maintainence.

Problem is that recommended grade of oil is not mentioned in booklet contrary to this Honda mentions recommended oil grade. I m very confused

Bro I think it's not possible that recommended oil grade(s), viscosity, etc. Isn't mentioned in your car's owners / users manual. Please check and confirm. It will definitely be there. And when you find it, please take it's pic and share here.

Still, to recommend a few and if engine and it's seals are perfectly healthy, then I would suggest 5w-30 (to start with), 10w-30 and 10w-40 at max.

In any of these, prefer full synthetic, meeting latest API SN / SN Plus, ILSAC GF-5 criteria, oil is 100% genuine and original and from some reputed brand. Change oil + genuine oil filter after every 5,000 Kms.

In 5w-30, prefer Total Quartz 9000 Future Series. In 10w-40, prefer ZIC. They are best for bucks.

Total Quartz Future 9000 5W30 API SN Fully Synthetic is best for your car. Drain it at 6000-7000kms. Use toyota oil and air filters.

The current Corolla Altis 1.6 has the same engine, also Altis 1.8 (& Grande) is the same engine with only difference being displacement so you can check threads for those.

Go ahead using the same 10w30 toyota petron plus for your car. Don't change it. Its blended by Mobil one of the best oil manufacturers in the world.

Petron plus is a mineral oil bro. Also, toyota stealership poured 20w50 petron in his car not 10w30

Basit bhai I won't recommend 5w30 for a engine driven 150k kms on a 20w50 mineral oil.

That's why told him to shift to 10w30 petron plus and not 5w30 or 0w20 or 5w40.

Hmmm... Well, I believe its never too late to switch to the right engine oil grade / viscosity (especially while shifting from unnecessarily, extremely thick engine oil to thin oil, like 20w-50 Vs 5w-30, and mineral Vs Fully Synthetic), and also provided that engine and its seals are fine (I already mentioned it, otherwise, if engine is weak and seals might become leaky, then thin oil may not be recommended).

I think, Corolla 1.6L, 2013 model has 1ZR-FE engine, and for that; 0W-20, 5W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30 are the recommended oil grades (Source: http://mywikimotors.com/toyota-1zr/ ). 10w-30 is the max. here (and is also the max. thickest oil grade I have found in most of the recent Toyota engines), but is the thickest.

I am about to make a similar decision for a 120k driven 2nzfe on 20w50 petron and want to switch to 5w30. the car is not having any issues but want to undertake this switch for good fuel economy and longer engine life as I have came to know that 20w50 being thicker oil may exhaust the oil pump and alike internals earlier than 5w30

You can shift to 5W30. Reason for shifting to 10W30 was because its cheaper than 5W30 and poses less risk if valve seals or rings are worn out.

How is mobil 10w30 for 1.6 corolla , 90k driven.
