OP is plain wrong in few assertions.
- Maintenance cost of Liana is more economical than most sedans. I find OEM parts of Liana at a lower cost than Honda City. In Kabli parts category, Liana parts are more economical than any other Sedan. Heads are available from 13k and full assembly can be bought for 23k.
- There no stability or handling issues till 145 kph. Can't claim about higher speeds as I haven't driven beyond 145kph but I am sure it'll be as stable at any other sedan. People have posted their videos of upto 170kph with no stability issues. I like its ride better than my newer model city.
- In my personal view, I find quality of its interior parts as good as any other sedan with no issues faced in 11 years of use with the exception of cracked upper covering of dashboard. To be fair, dashboard of two City I have owned discolored despite using all care products and under shade parking. No fogging of headlights also as yet.

OP should have consulted Liana users before writing this article.

Thank you for your valuable input....
In the article i tried to highlight the issues that spoiled the repute of the car at the onset. As of now, most of the issues like technicians training and availability of equipment have already been addressed, but my point was that 'damage was done' before that.
Regarding stability, the point is only while "Turning at high speed", otherwise Liana is quite smooth in straight drive (as I have even seen a video by someone driving at 195 KM/h).
Quality of material greatly depend on the usage conditions, i opined on the basis of most of the cars on the road, definitely with good care, the life of materials improve. (like you have kept your car)
Anyways thanks again for your comments.

I respect your opinion but it just plain stereotyping. Would you like to explain the issues you have faced except resale price which is a known issue.

Thank you for taking my arguments in positive spirit. Not a common behaviour now a days.

  • Stability during turns at 145 kph at Lyari Expressway is absolutely fine and no less than Honda City IMHO
  • Excuse me for stereotyping but our mechanics just don't know how to read scan data and troubleshoot a problem. Liana doesnt need any special tools to fix its problems. Case in point, I faced a limited top speed issue. No mechanic, even the 3S with latest gadgets could diagnose what is the underlying cause. Exasperated, I referred to the service manual which suggested to check manifold pressure which would indicate restricted exhaust. I coerced a mechanic to check the pressure and indeed, it was way above limit, indicating either catalytic blocked or blockage in exhaust pipes. Fixing Catalytic Converter fixed my issue.
All the mechanics I visited had the vacuum gauge but morons didn't know how to use it to troubleshoot issues. No fault of Liana here.

Never go for Liana; it has serious engine issues. If it gets overheated you need to pull out the whole engine to get the gasket replaced! Also it starts giving issues after that... I
