SAIC Group's Rising Auto, previously known as R Auto, made its first post-rebranding model, the R7, available Tuesday, after unveiling the battery swap-enabled model in late February.
The model is a mid to large-size coupe SUV, similar to NIO's EC6. It measures 4,900 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width and 1,655 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

For comparison, the NIO EC6 measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width and 1,731/ 1,714 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.
Rising Auto offers four versions of the R7, which have the following pricing and core specifications.

The standard version, priced at RMB 289,900 ($40,130) after subsidies, is powered by a 77-kWh battery pack, has a CLTC range of 551 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.

The long-range version, priced at RMB 309,900 after subsidies, features a 90-kWh battery pack, a CLTC range of 642 km and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.

The performance version, priced at RMB 326,900 after subsidies, is powered by a 90-kWh battery pack, has a CLTC range of 606 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

The flagship version, priced at RMB 356,900 after subsidies, is powered by a 90-kWh battery pack, has a CLTC range of 606 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

Like NIO, Rising Auto allows consumers to lease the battery instead of buying it with the car.
Deliveries of the Rising R7 will begin at the end of October, and the company plans to launch at least one new product per year from now until 2025, which will cover sedan, SUV, and MPV models, reiterating its previous plans.

Last week, SAIC announced that it has joined Sinopec, China National Petroleum Corp, CATL and Shanghai Automobile City to form a company specializing in battery swap services.

SAIC's Rising Auto, Roewe, MG and Maxus brands will launch battery swap-enabled models across all categories, including SUVs, sedans, MPVs and commercial vehicles, SAIC said.

BEV/ Battery Electric Vehicles will become a new normal in near future and many car companies have started their onslaught in this direction. Honda introduced a compact electric hatchback “Honda e “ for limited European market while not a successful Honda Clarity EV in North America. Honda plans for EV is under works and last year Honda shared that they have selected the name "PROLOGUE" for their first mass market BEV/ Battery electric vehicle arriving in 2024 in North America. https://bit.ly/3wDtmJM . The first vehicle will be a Sports Utility vehicle [ no surprises here ]. Honda North America will start their electrification plan vision 2040 [ Zero Emission ] by 2024 & actually with release of two vehicles both as SUV’s , one each under Honda and its sub brand Acura. Both these SUV’s will be result of Honda’s joint venture with General Motors with "Prologue" from Honda coming first while probably a “ZDX” under Acura although name is not yet confirmed. Honda will be utilizing General Motors BEV3/ EV platform powered by Ultium batteries. Honda defines the Prologue as “adventure-ready SUV capable of satisfying everyday driving and weekend getaways". Honda Design Studio USA will be responsible for the styling, exterior, interior and other packaging BUT under the skin, the vehicle will be 100% General Motors and will also be built by GM at their facility with Honda model at GM Mexico while Acura EV @ GM Tennessee USA, same place where GM is making Cadillac Lyriq EV.

Honda shared teaser of their upcoming PROLOGUE few months ago 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗡𝗢𝗪 official interior and exterior have been released by Honda North America . The Honda model is fully based on Chevy Blazer EV but visually/ in & out, Honda spent good amount of time to give their offering an exclusive look and its own brand identity. With length of 192 inches and width of 78.3 inches, this is 8” longer and 5” wider than the Honda C segment CR-V. Mind you with no engine on front and EV platform, the Prologue has a stretched wheelbase of 121.8” and that means it is around 9.6” more than the new Land Cruiser or 13.8” longer wheelbase than the Toyota Fortuner. Prologue is technically identical to Chevy Blazer EV is also evident from the fact that that’s it has the exact same wheelbase.

On exterior it has adopted new styling and Honda calls it a “ Modern design with neo-rugged aesthetics “ . The official release of photos shows the ELITE trim level which is Honda’s top of the line fully loaded version and is fitted with massive 21” wheels. New frontal and rear design philosophy with clean and simple exterior. The model has coupe like styling with slopped roof and reduced surface area of rear glass panel and similar to Chevy Blazer EV . On the rear you might see something like Range Rover Evoque but again its subjective . On the rear Honda has removed the “H” logo and replaced it Honda spelled out.

As of interior beside being technology rich , you can expect enormous passenger volume and thanks to the extensive wheelbase. As of dashboard layout, we do see impression of other current Honda models like the floating 11.3” floating infotainment screen. There will also be an 11” driver fully digital HD information cluster. Some of other control in Prologue seems to be similar to what we have seen in new Civic or the new CR-V. The images show full panoramic roof, high quality leather seating and a premium Bose audio system as well. Honda didn’t release details about all the features and amenities but we can expect that Honda will tick all boxes. Honda didn’t share any details regarding battery , motors, power or range but we can expect that like Chevy a FWD, RWD or AWD might be available. Depending upon battery size and powertrain configuration, a 400 kilometer to 520 kilometer range on single change is possible.
There might be an onboard 11.5-kW Level 2 charger and possibly 190-Kw DC fast charging capabilities. In Chevy Blazer EV, the within 10 minutes the battery can be charged to cover a distance of 126 kilometers. BTW, Chevy also offer a dual motor performance version of Chevy Blazer EV “SS” with 557HP & 878NM of Torque. I think Chevy will keep such configuration to their brand only and we will not see any such setup for Honda Prologue.

Full specifications and technical details of US built domestic model Prologue will be known at time of official sales in United States in early 2024. We can expect pricing to start around $45K while fully loaded can touch $55K before any Federal+ State government incentives in United States [approx. $10K].

Honda plans to develop multiple BEV under their Zero Emission plan and for that Honda is also developing their own EV platform known as E-Architecture but till then Honda will rely on GM. The GM EV basis is a flexible platform, that can be utilized to develop small cars as well as full size vehicles like even Pickup trucks with battery sizes from 50 to 200kWh and electric range of more than 640 kilometers. Honda might switch to their own platforms for certain models while still using GM technology.

Meanwhile , the first Toyota BEV was released last year and currently on sale. The bZ4X is a joint venture between Toyota & Subaru and will be ONE of the rival of Prologue. Read in depth here > https://www.facebook.com/groups/PakCars.Official/permalink/4391607567603459/

From the artcle above.Honda and GM have join forces to use the same platform that is very good idea. This synergy will be great for their Ev vehicle development.

Wuling Sells An EV Truck With A Center Driver’s Seat In China Now

China builds some amazing vehicles. How about this one? This is the new Wuling E10, an extremely narrow electric minivan with a center driver’s seat and a closed cargo box. The E10 is developed for delivery companies and postal services.

Wuling is a brand under the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture, a business better known for the Wuling Mini EV. But the joint venture started life making small minivans, and they still do. Most of the vans are electric nowadays but the E10 is the first one-seat van.
Power comes from a single electric motor located at the rear. Output is 27 horsepower. The motor is mated to a 9 (nine) kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, with a cruising range of 115 kilometers. That’s enough for a lot of deliveries.
The Wuling E10 is an amazing vehicle, and it has a cool factor. I wouldn’t be surprised if folks are going to modify it. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet but bet it won’t be more than 30.000 yuan or so ($4125). That’ll be a good deal for a car with a center driver’s seat. 3M tape included.

Enovate will form a joint venture with Saudi Arabia's Sumou Holding to build a production and R&D base in Saudi Arabia with an annual capacity of about 100,000 NEVs.

**

Enovate Motors, an electric vehicle (EV) startup that has not made much of a name in China, is betting big on the Middle East market.

Enovate signed a deal with local company Sumou Holding in Saudi Arabia on December 7 to jointly build a new energy vehicle (NEV) production plant here, the Chinese EV maker announced today.

The two sides will form a joint venture that will make two phases of expenditures totaling about $500 million in Saudi Arabia to build a production and R&D base with an annual capacity of about 100,000 NEVs.

The facility, when completed, will be the first Chinese-branded NEV production facility in Saudi Arabia, Enovate said.

Enovate's press release provided no further information, although The Economic Observer today cited sources at the company as saying that the Saudi sovereign fund and Aramco are its investors.

Enovate was formerly known as Zhejiang Dianka Automobile, which was founded in 2015 and produces mini electric vehicles. The Enovate brand was officially launched in November 2018.

In September 2020, the company's first model, the all-electric SUV Enovate ME7, was launched.

Enovate makes its second model, the SUV Enovate ME5 with extended-range technology, officially available in China on July 13, 2021.

The ME5 currently has a starting price of RMB 138,800 ($19,900) and the ME7 is RMB 269,800.
As one of the earliest electric car startups in China, Enovate Motors was founded around the same time as NIO, Li Auto, and XPeng Motors, but it has developed slightly more slowly than the latter three.
