The train journey always appeal me and I would prefer train anytime over plane, bus or car journey. Since it was friday (9th May), the train was overloaded as many people commute on weekend to go to their cities. The evening was approaching with great scenery outside but I didn't fetch my camera because of rush. The rush subsided at Wazirabad and the train was now almost empty.
Had a little chit chat with fellow passengers. Although I know and can speak Punjabi very well but I still feel comfortable talking in Urdu. Most would recognize me in a second (due to accent) and ask, "Bhai aap karachi se ho" and then the next question is.. "Wahan ke halat kese hain"
And then I had to convince them that Karachi is a safe city to live
Anyway, I reached Islamabad at around 9 PM (train wasn't late). I decided to wait at station until the remaining party's flight reach. While I was waiting at station, a Suzuki Bolan driver approached me after watching my backpack, camps and sleeping bags. He asked.. "Murree jana hai?".. I declined and told him that I have plan for further north, your Bolan won't be able to make it. He then said, "Naran bhi jaye gi ye gari".. Me: "Us se bhi agay jana hai".. The conversation was unwanted but it was a good time pass. I asked him where he is from. He replied that he is from Abbottabad. I asked, khaas Abbottabad ya thora aagay pechay.. He said.. aapko pta nahi ho ga, hamara gaon Havelian se agay jaa kar hai aur wahan per naya aabshar nikla hai jiska kisi ko nahi pata.. Me: Sajjikot ki baat to nahi kar rahay? He: (hanstay huay).. Aap ko to sab pata hai.. bilkul yehi jaga hai.. After talking a little, got his phone number and then he left.
Meanwhile, got a call from friend that they have reached Islamabad. I instructed him to book a cab, ask the cab to pick one guy from Rawalpindi station and then leave in Islamabad.
