Suzuki wagon r. poor mileage - help required

I purchased Suzuki Wagon R VXL in June 2018 and it has now been a year driving the vehicle. Initially, I had complaints of low fuel mileage as my car only managed to do 280 KMs per Full Tank and was averaging only around 8 and 9. I reported this to Suzuki and got my car inspected which was okay and they told me to drive it for a few thousand kilometres. The mileage later improved to 11-12 per litre. However after driving about 25000 KMs this Summer my vehicle has again dropped down its mileage to 250 KM per tank in the city and 330 KM per tank on the long route.

I am using KIXX 10W40 Oil since the beginning. Total Driven KMs = 25432. Alloy Wheels & Tyres = 14", 165/65 R14.

Please if someone can help or recommend any Mechanic/Electrician as I have been to countless in my city and the issue is still unresolved.

8,9 km / Liter..........its too low it should be around 15, 16 boss if the suzuki you are visiting doesn't prove useful to you CHANGE IT, go to another dealer have it properly inspected, diagnose where is the issue (Engine Oil, Spark Plugs, Filters, Tyres, Engine, too many things to inspect) List down the items that has direct impact on fuel average and check one by one .....You Should have been alarmed the day it was giving you 8, 9 Km/ L...

Btw, if not other factors, then

KIXX 10W40 Oil

seems to be the main culprit to me.

You should only use 0w-20, 5w-20, or at max. 5w-30 fully synthetic engine oil, from some reputed brand; meeting latest API SN /SN Plus and / or ILSAC GF-5 criteria.

Suzuki poured 10W-40 oil in my WagonR in last maintainence. Still my car is giving 14-15 with AC. There must be some other problem, this mileage is way too low.

you are really juicing your engine

thick oil it self can take away 10hp and you are running big tyres with it

switch to 0w-20 and near to stock tyre size

The problem is due to 14 rim and tyre tht is the why fuel avg is not optimum stock are 13 inch

I have driven aprox 22,000 in 9-10 months mines a August 2018. I too haven't attained mileage beyond 12-13km/L. 380-400 per tank. This is winters without ac, and summers with 100% Ac combined.

Dont know how do people get 15-16km/L

I am using caltex 0W20 I mix hi octane at times aswell, every fourth or fifth tank is hi octane, my daily travel is around 100kms

I have done it all. There are two dealerships in my city both of them told me everything is normal. I doubt that though.

Yes I'm from Sialkot. And have heard recommendations of getting 0W20 but is it suitable for vehicle in Pakistan's Summer?

I agree rim Tyre specification is not as stock but I have alot of folks using the same specification and getting 12 to 14 with ac in city. Now I'm not asking that I should get a 14 but does a 14" rim Tyre spec hurt the mileage this worse?

Use of 10w40 is a mistake as i thankfully learned from this forum. Can you please recommend brands which can be used in 0w20? And is this grade suitable in Pakistan's Summer?

But does it hurt so much that you get 7.5 per litre it's just a 14 inch Tyre which is stock in Indian Wagon R

Bro how come its normal????.......8 , 9 Km is the average of 1.6 Liter Engine.... I suppose it is fine if suzuki has mistakenly installed 1.6Liter engine in your WagonR and two of the suzuki dealerships seems fine with it......"Oh Sir don't worry its just another day...Suzki has installed 1.6 Liter engine in your Wagon R so you are suppose to enjoy this average its fine go home and sleep".....if thats the case please tell them that you are not getting proper Engine output of 1600CC out of your Wagon R.........and if what i am saying doesn't makes sense at all please let your car be checked by professional and authorized dealers other than you are already seeing. Spend some money go to another dealer in another city if you have to and get it diagnosed properly if still is the case...then my friend GOD HELP YOU

BRO USE SGO SUZUKI GENUINE OIL (OW-20) and if it is not available with you nearest suzki dealership..go find one from where ever is possible.........Don't go for any other Brand as you are already suffering from low fuel average

Bro change the tyres to 13 Inch temporarily (try exchanging it with family or friend) and check the average see if it has any affect on fuel average ...you have to diagnose that where exactly is the issue...
as you have already told that you were pouring oil of different viscosity..... (Remember to have wheel alignment and balancing before and after changing tyres)

The best average come with stock.tyre and r have to compromise on drive little bit but it maximise the fuel economy to greater extent

0w-20 would be absolutely fine for use in Pakistan in all-weather / all-seasons conditions, provided; this 0w-20 engine oil grade is mentioned in your car's owners / users manual, and has also been recommended by the OEM!

Summer season, winters season, etc. are all myths!
