spare parts are a little hard to find...otherwise if its running on its original engine i.e 1600cc its performance is great since it is very light in terms of overall weight....

@SHAHIDDAWAR

89-95 Vitara had three types of gasoline motors G16A (carb), G16B (uniport injection), and G16B EFI....the last one being the best churning out just under 100 horses! Later engines were H20A V6, J20A I-4, H25A V6, RF-2.0TDi, and the latest being H27A V6!
Panel spares for the model are rare but can be managed, however, engine spares are more easily available as G16B is the same motor offered in the Baleno GTi!
Performance....
On road...as quick as a 1 KZ...if tuned properly can even take on a stock 1KD!
Off-road....sand, mud, beach, snow YES.....hard core NO!

we had an XL-7 in dubai with the H27 engine, was SERIOUSLY fast! though like every other offroader now, they aren't perfect offroad, they need a little modification to make them easier to use & more capable.

on road they are very civilized but parts are always going to be a problem.

@storm

Yes it is pretty quick....170 horses range....and it is a light truck!
But the off-road part is compromised as it has struts up in the front and towers can't take a serious beating.... have used both G16A n G16B in rallies extensively....and each time finished with both the front tyres pointing in different directions and a post rally trip to 'USTAAD JEE'(denter) was always mandatory!:stuck_out_tongue:

Good information

mine has a Baleno 1.6 efi engine .... gave me no trouble at siri paye & Shingaari trails over all a good offroader
