Hi Everyone,

Since 1 year I have been facing this swift clutch hard problem in my swift, which gets hard whenever I am in a traffic area and gears are normally 1st and 2nd. It takes some time and clutch gets harder and harder. So recently I have also faced this huge set back in which the same situation was happening but at the end in the traffic the clutch did not came back and got stuck at the end. I turned the engine off and then turned on and now clutch was back but even on gears my car was not accelerating at all. Got it checked from mechanic and he fixed the leathers of clutch plates and it’s running now.

But issue still persists of clutch hard and I fear that the above mentioned issue can again happen with me. Can someone please tell me the actual issue here so I can get it resolved?

Would really appreciate the support

I have the exact same issue. Went to Suzuki I-9, they said to change clutch and pressure plates. A local mechanic told me to replace both master and slave cylinders.

Anyone else facing the same issue? Please share remedies.

I got my problem fixed by replacing the lower clutch cylinder kit. Both clutch and pressure plates were fine. Just replacing the lower clutch cylinder fixed the problem.

not the clutch set, get the clutch slave cylinder checked / changed.

thanks for the responce, did you have the similar problem?? normally my car is ok,, in traffic jams or hot weather the clutch gets stuck..

yes, i also faced same problem.. when in traffic jam and with the A/C turned on.. after about half an hour, i noticed twice clutch got hard and gears were not engaging : ( i turned off the A/C and somehow managed to get the car on road-side, after a while when it cooled down, everything was working back to normal..
showed it to 2 of the trustworthy mechanics, both claimed that it's lower clutch slave cylinder is made of fiber or something and it gets jammed as it gets overly heated and over a period of time it weakens and then starts creating such problems... so both advised me to change the clutch slave cylinder... i've got it changed in 7 thousand rupees .. so far the car is working fine : / can't say about future though : )

bro, i had to go out of country, so did not drive the car extensively after that...
but will go back home next month, so i'll drive the car extensively then and will let you know of the updates.

I had same happen to my swift. In city traffic or toll plaza the clutch gets hard from regular pressing. When cold the pedal is ok again. Took to mechanic & he removed the 2 bolts on the clutch slave cylinder outside the gearbox then put oil on the clutch lever that goes down to the clutch inside the gearbox.

Car was ok for 1 month but now it's getting hard again. Is there a any other fix without taking the gearbox off?

Update: So i was driving the car one fine day and suddenly it started giving screeching noise whenever i press clutch ..

went to mechanic again and he said when i press the clutch it is pressing the clutch pressure plate too much (something like that, and he showed me scratch marks on pressure plate) and said the clutch cylinder needs to be changed ... i left the car there and went home.. next day ..

according to mechanic, they could not find the new clutch cyldiner, but adjusted the old one.. took 2000 rupees for the job.

i drove the car after replacing that for a month, went from Lahore to murre isb and back, drove it the whole month... the car did not give any problem.. but be mindful it was all in December, without any A/C on of course.

One of the worst Suzuki swift manufacturing fault, almost clutch cylinder issue persist on all models of old shapes.. worst experience

Hi everyone in the chat it too old post but i have not found the solution to my problem that's why i am posting here
My problem is my swift brake pedal, clutch pedal and acceleration pedal sometime have good pressure/power and car pick and braking works perfectly but sometimes pedal got too much soft for acceleration, clutch and brake and pick drops automatically. what will be solution to problem.
