Hello Fellows,

I am using Suzuki swift 2011 model, and facing issue with brakes. when i bought that car there was ABS warning sign on dashboard although Suzuki centre had removed this warning sign (dont know how they did it but its not appearing anymore) but problem still persists as described below.

Problem:
there is no soft brake or smooth brake on slow speed, car stops immediately with jerk. its really give bad driving experience,

Tried solutions:
1. I have Changed brake pads, as i thought soft layer of pads was gone.
2. Changed brake booster but all is vain.

but there is no warning sign. yes you are right it might be bcz i believe they somehow suppressed that ECU warning.

I have a similar issue. When the brake is pressed, the car seems to come to a halt at once. I've replaced the brake pads which seems to have made the brakes a bit smoother but they are still not smooth. I'm comparing my brakes to those of a Gli and I'm unsure if the brakes of a Swift are hard by default.

@shoaib096 but suzuki tech guys are saying this behaviour of brake is not normal. still trying to figure it out but no luck so far. i studied complete brake system of swift. lets break it down.

Brake Booster: i tested it with iginition on and off and there is no sign of vaccum leak.
Master Cylinder: if this part is faulty then it will be very obvious.
Brake Pads: after replacing brake pads i got improvement in braking
ABS Unit no warning sign on dashboard. but there is electric sqeeshee sound from rear wheels each time i switch on my car. May be rear brake shoes play major role in smooth braking.

Get the brake oil changed from dealership if not changed for a long time.

Try to get brake oil of "Sekan" brand, better to avoid "Guard".

I have issue when press brake swift come to halt ,I have Japanese model
any one assist or know any good workshop in Karachi -Johar

@baqis2001
following solutions worked for me
1. replace brake pads with genuine brake pad. don't go for local or so called Japanese/ Thailand. As local brake pads are too much hard and don't have soft layer on it. Genuine brake pads will cost you exactly 5920/rs.and its worth it.
2. [Caution] try it on your own risk
Suzuki certified mechanic somehow clogged the brake vacuum line by inserting small piece of pipe in main vacuum pipe to decrease the vacuum pressure in line.

its been a week now and car brake is working smoothly.

Thanks Dear Could you advice contact details for that mechanic please
and where to buy These Genuine brake pads .Regards

That is good to hear! I stand with you on this one. Brakes are our lifeline, shouldn't trust bogus parts with our safety for a few thousand rupees. Plus they last longer too. I had installed genuine ones in my alto 2 years back and till this day they are working great. The local crappy ones would lose their performance after 6 months.

I got my front pads changed from Mini Motors exactly a year ago and since 3 days now I'm hearing the shreaking sound everytime I brake ... moreover ... everytime I let go of the brake pedal, a little shreak sound comes from the brake too ...sounds exactly like when machines haven't been oiled in a long time ...

My question is that is it too early to change the front pads ?
How long are they supposed to last?
Are suzuki ones okay or should I get from somewhere else?

I'm taking my car in tomorrow to Cantt Motors for a second opinion but still ...what do you guys suggest?

can anyone please suggest me any break specialist of suzuki swift in Lahore?
i am having trouble with the brakes, they are sponge like when i brake and almost touching the floor before i feel braking kicking in unless i pump the pedal first, i have had work carried out but all with no results, replaced the master cylinder bled the full system 4 times, and replaced 2 rear wheel cylinders, is there anything else i could get done to resolve this problem im experiencing.

Did u get any solution for your swift, as I am facing the same problem with my Swift 2012.
Looking for mechanic who can diagnose the issue, as I have already changed master cylinder but still the same issue.
