Suzuki Swift 40,000KM maintenance

Hello everyone,

My Suzuki Swift (2010 model CBU) has just completed 40,000km and I would like to take in for the regular check-up. However, I would like to get some advice on what aspects I need to pay close attention to. I will appreciate if the experts could give me some feedback with regard to this. One thing I would like to point out is that I get very low mileage in city with AC, around 9.2-9.5 km/l.

Just an example, do I need to get my sparks plug changed at 40,000km?
Should I get my gear oil changed as well?
etc. etc. etc.

Change the spark plugs to iridium(Denso IK20 or autoliteXP2923) and use ZIC XQ(5W40) it will give you good mileage. Regarding gear oil it is better if you change it. Rest there is nothing special which is required at 40,000.

Agreed. Switch to good quality plugs and synthetic engine oil. this will improve the milage.

at 40K checkup, i think you should also get your tyres inspected, rotated and balanced. also get the car aligned again.

check for brake disc & shoes wear.

regarding gear oil change, the interval should be mentioned on your service manual along with suggested specs of the oil.

Also probably you should change the coolent as well (if appropriate).

at 40000 kms, a very comprehensive service is required, do you have the manual ? if not visit any 3S dealership and get the quote of service need to be done, there are few things that need replacement as well, so take good care of your car, follow car maintenance manual for that.

Thank you for your responses and suggestions; they are really helpful and I will keep them in mind and also check the manual so that I know what I am talking about. Have always gotten it serviced from 3S dealer btw.

Also, wrt the iridium plugs, how much should I expect to pay for those in Karachi?

Check blets etc. There is a chart for 40K maintenance consult it and. Don't hesitate to spend money on maintenance because it will pay you back in the long run with a trouble free fuel efficient car.
