Dear pakwheelers,

I want to ask why importers do not import Suzuki Swift third generation the way they import vitz.

That's because of our duty structure, importing anything over 999cc (non-hybrid) is not economically viable. Swift would cost round 2 Million rupees after landing here.

Swift 3rd Generation can be imported under 14-18 lac. Its 1240cc so duty is slightly more compared to 1.0 vitz. I'm currently owner of 3rd gen 2012 swift and i love it.

Does it have a M series engine or K

15.5km/l at the moment(in city with climate control). Since i drive manual and few fast auto cars, my foot is heavy on this baby swift.

K12b produces around 95hp, only drawbag is CVT transmission but considering the size of body, looks pretty quick to me.

Thats a very good average as compared to the Mseries engines in Pk Swift

M series is a very sturdy engine and if driven with a light foot, it can yield good results.. although dont expect anything more than 13kmpl in city since its a 1328cc as compared to 1240cc plus it has VVT where as m13 lack it....

Along with high import duties, another aspect could be its k12B engine. There will be issues for getting spare parts etc for k12B.

Whereas the vitz is using the same 1000cc engine from the last several years and that's why importers prefer to import 1000cc vitz due to low duties and availability of spare parts in local market.
