Hello, I have a question for fellow pakwheelers who own or have some experience of keeping/maintaining baleno.

I am a bit worried about the response of my car due to following reasons

A.)
In Ist gear at 2.5K RPM car moves at 20 KM/H
In 2nd gear at 2.5k RPM at 35KM/H
In 3rd gear at 2.5K RPM at 50KM/H
In 4th gear at 2.5K RPM at 65 KM/H
In 5th gear at 2.5K RPM at 80 KM/h

I want to know if it is normal, as i try to shift gears at 2.5K RPM and don't try to exceed 2.5K RPM to be safe and save fuel.

B.)
If i accelerate the car at more than 70 KM/H; car's mileage decreases about 30% i.e. if i'm doing 150~160KM in a cylinder at 60-70 KM/H, it goes down to 105~115 KM at 80~90 Km/H.
(Above mileages are 50% highway driving and 50% within city driving)

C.)
I also feel that clutch is hard and stiff even after changing clutch wire and getting clutch wire adjustment done.

D.)
I am not satisfied with the pick of car too; specially on CNG as car takes quite some time to respond, specially pick on 2nd gear is pathetic and i have to rev the engine to higher RPM to to avoid jerks.

Last time when i visited workshop; mechanic told me that these problems are caused due to clutch and pressure plate and i will have to change them to overcome the issues.

I need your opinion and suggestions in this regard, whether i should go for clutch and pressure plate change or is there something else wrong with the car.

I have a baleno 2004 JXR all stock and 140,000 Km on ODO meter and properly tuned.

Buddy its perfectly normal, me myself is driving in econo mode these days, lolz. gear change speeds corresponding to rpm you've mentioned is correct.. i keep my car @ 2 rpm to achieve economy, not harm in that.
Rest if you increase the acceleration on CNG you'll lose economy and the whole purpose of installing CNG dies along it.. You might as well shift to petrol if you want more acceleration and are willing to compromise.. Which you are not as i see from your post.. so stay happy with what you're getting.

And yeah abt the clutch and pressure plate, yes get them changed before the wear n tear grows bigger than just these 2..!

Get clutch plate changed, then check your coils. I have used baleno for 3 years(110000 km), and faced no pick problem.Allso adjust your tappets form suzuki workship, they know exact gap.. And will charge you RS 350.I was getting 140-150 km with AC. Now a days I am having LIANA, better than baleno.
But over all these r the only 2 brands Baleno and Liana, best in prevailing market. These r rumors that there is a Pick issue. If u check out these 2 or 3 things u will never face any problem.

Yes it does have.. if your clutch is not performing at full your fuel consumption will increase.. however if your engine is knocking, either your clutch is tooooo worn out, finished i must say.. or there is some other problem with the car.. probably engine coils or wiring for the coils.. however i think your car is giving a good mileage, its not bad at all.

Thanks for your valuable suggestions. Can anybody give me any idea that where can i get the original clutch and pressure plate for my Baleno in Lahore and what would be the expected price.

Dear friends, can anyone suggest good Baleno specialist in rawalpindi please ?
I am waiting for your reply. pls also tell the avg mileage of baleno as i am new user of it. thanks

i have 1.6 2001 model, On CNG, it give Rs. 4 per kilometer with AC on long and Rs. 5 with AC local.
for mechanical work you can go to akbar market near marreer chowk (Waheed khan, 2nd last shop in market) for engine related work go to khadda market g7 (veeri mistri) again 2nd last shop in the market infront of nomi autos. for parts kiani gawalmandi

I wouldn't suggest getting any clutch & pressure plate that comes in suzuki packing, get "FCC" one! i think i am quoting the right name. It comes in blue packing.

What would be its approximate market price and where can i get one from?

guys my Baleno is giving 100-110kms per cylinder of 60 liters i.e in 8 kgs of gas
IS it Okay???
if not then what should i do to increase its mileage???

Clucth plate FCC with pressure plate & bearings will cost you aprrox 8000 thousand. Orginal one will cost you over 15000.
