Suzuki Baleno g13b Engine Swap . Need Experts Advise

Hi all,

I am planning to get a engine Swap in my Baleno 2000 Model. No alterations or anything as I will be getting it replaced with a G 13 B Stock Engine. My question to you all is to weather I should go for a G13b Singapore Driven Engine or Japan Driven as both are Made in Japan. Someone informed me that Singapore Driven Engine are not reliable comparing to Japanese Driven Engine as there can be a Compression Issues.

Cost of the Singapore Driven Engine in Rawalpindi and that is for only the assembly is 50k and for Japanese Engine assembly is 70k . I will appreciate if experts can share some details with me on the differences between Singapore and Japanese Driven Engine as well as what will be the recommendation for me.

Driving habit of japenese is way more sophisticated than that of Singaporean bcoz in Singapore mostly people are asians and asians mostly dont take good care of their cars. Secondly difference in price is due to freight cost.

I would recommend you to swap g15/16b instead. This will give more power to your car and you will enjoy your ride more than ever

Thanks for the feedback. I have been thinking about the G15 but not sure if that is easily available in Rawalpindi but certainly I can look into this option not sure how much of a difference will be in terms of fuel millage between g13 & G15

thanks but not an option with the existing condition of the Engine as it will be the probably 3rd time getting it rebuild and did not had a good experience after the last rebuild.

Find a knowledgeable mechanic and have your engine rebuilt

Get a G16B then. It's a bolt on swap

There are few good mechanics that I am aware of but when it comes to cost comparison of rebuild and the condition in which my engine is will be more greater than getting a swap. Engine Head needs to be be replaced for sure because of came shaft and rockers arm as they are not in good shape along with the valve guides as they are seeping oil (got this done in my last engine rebuild and lasted like an year). Crank Shaft all messed up as the grove for carter pin is barely holding the Pin and there is a chance that soon that it will not hold the main pulley. Grind marks of main pulley on the oil pump so basically engine is in its last stages of his life lol and milking every bit of it.

When I see the labor cost and parts I think better option to get a swap what do you say after hearing all this.

G13B DOHC came in swift gti and has parts issue expensive and not available everywhere same with g16b and this engine complete costs 135k better to opt for any other engine swap.
