Suggest 10w30 Full Synthetic Engine oil for Civic 2008 please

Kindly suggest the best 10w30 Full Synthetic Engine oil for Civic 2008, please. Milage on ODO Meter is 100300 KM.

Brother, the previous owner was using 20w50 in this one since last 2 oil changes, God knows why,. Someone here suggested that after using that grade I should not drop down directly to 5w30 and I should use 10w30 but fully synthetic, as there is not much difference between 5w30 and 10w30 so should be on the safer side. Asking here because I couldn't find fully synthetic in 10w30.

PS: I have no idea about oils and which one should I use.

There is a difference in 10w and 5w, better go for 10w first afterthat you can opt 5w ...
In 10w, there is no fully synthetic available (i might be wrong), but synthetic available which i will suggest you to go for shell helix HX6 10w40 (wait for the other members suggestion too) ...
In 5w, you have options in fully synthetic oils, if used shell, then i think you should stick to shell's fully synthetic helix ultra 5w40, if not then i will suggest you tp go for total quartz 9000 5w30 ...

1. 10w-40: ZIC Fully synthetic all the way. If it suits, and you do not face any issues, then last option:
2. 10w-30: Caltex / Havoline all the way. Best value to money oil, despite being mineral based.

If it suits, continue with it, else if, switch to 10w-40.

In your case, do not go below 10w-30.

Thanks a lot for your kind suggestion, I heard if old engine is suddenly changed from simple oil to synthetic oil it can cause leakage problem. Keeping this in veiw, should I use synthetic, semi synthetic or mineral based engine oil? Or should I visit Honda 3S center and start maintaining my car from there now onward? Or is it of no use to mantain car from Honda now? Another thing I should mention is, Price is not a issue, but whatever the oil is, should be the best of the best for the car.

History of the car
1) Civic 2008 Oriel Prosmatic
2) Milage on ODO Meter is 100300 km
3) I am 2nd owner
4) The previous owner used Havoline 20w-50 API SG since last 8 months (2 oill changes)
5) Car was in Karachi
6) It will be mostly used in Abbottabad and occasional visit to Islamabad and Peshawar.

Agreed to some extent. Synthetic may not cause it, but YES, thin oil may definitely cause it.

I was using 20w50 since 3 years in my city, one day i took a risk to put 5w30 and once i changed it with oil filter , the results were Amazing. not a single Drop leaked and no oil Consumption, Half Self Start , Amazing milage and pickup. i was fool for 3 years using 20w50 since my engine was amazing and can easily bear 5w30. So try it once

Oil was PSO Carient 5w30 Awesome Results.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion bro, should I drop down step by step, because as you said it is a risk so it can go either way. A brother here suggested I should use 10w40 first and check the oil level after every 500 km and see if it is dropping oil level or not. If it is not dropping oil then I should switch it to 10w30 in next oil change, follow the same step and then finally switch to 5w30. What do you suggest?

yes this is the best idea too. again i am saying it's an experiment and it wilk cost you money. i took the risk switched from 2050 to 530 directly since engine health was good so i didn't face any issue

The engine of my car seems great and 3 different mechanics okayed it. But as I said, I will take it slow, money is not the issue as far as I find the right oil, the problem is I never had a used car before so that why I am confused and don't want to take the risk, downgrading step by step seemed logical to me too. I will stick to the one which suits my car best. Thanks you so much for your suggestions

even though its a mineral based oil the caltex havoline sae 10w30 is a very good and reliable oil especially if you have a 7th or 8th gen honda civic so you can go for it if you dont want to put synthetic oil which a better choice but the problem with the synthetic one is that putting that oil in older engines can cause leaks so you are going to have change all of your engines oil seals.
