i bought honda civic in march 2017 now i get to know my stering stuck sometime when on speed 150 stering doesnt work properly its now more than 2 years and 60000 km do this manufacturing fault coverd or not
Hi . Did u get any solution of it ? As i have same problem.
I have also same problem. Steering got stiff and hard for some while and Specifically on High ways
My cousin bought a civic 2017 20k driven couple of months back. He was recently facing similar issue. On u-turns steering had a jerk with a noise coming back to normal position and there was a play on high speeds. He went to honda and got the steering component (he was saying kangi) changed free of cost. Honda guys told him its a known fault of 16/17 and some early 18 models.
Guys, its an issue with the steering rack. A common issue with the Honda Civic 2016-2018. It will be replaced under warranty. You can follow the owners thread of civic x for more info.
Salaam, I have a 2017 and facing same clucking noise in the steering. Did Honda change yours?
Salam guys,
Please note that Honda didn't inform it's customers about the manufacturing fault in Civic model 2016-18, which is being replaced free of cost for those vehicles under warranty for others I think it's a 100k plus cost. It seems they cleverly didn't announce about in public but that surely is a serious and life threatening fault especially for those who drive on highways and motorways.

If someone knows ... Detail plz
I got mine fixed by a mechanic for 20000. It’s been a month and no sound as of yet. You can call 03111678030 and take time for your car. Total work takes around 4-5 hours
Honda is replacing steering rack free of cost even after warranty period. You must have swrvice history
Hey bro is this actually true and confirmed?
Yes.
Take car to 3S
Ask them to launch claim for Quality related. They will see service history. You may have to convince them .
Then pursue it with Atlas.
It takes 3 months minimum
Is this problem only for 16 17 models? Wat about reborn? Any manufacturing defaults in it?
Okay thanks
Salam, I have civic 2017 and driven 15000 km and I just noticed today when turning steering it makes a very small clicking noise. Is it the same issue or a different one? And I have been maintaining my car from Honda. So wil it be changed in warranty if it has a issue?
Get it checked from dealership.
If there is issue, they will check service history and accept claim.
I own Honda Civic 2018 Oriel. Started facing the issue before hitting 10k KM and it only gets worst. Honda customer care and quality don't address neither respond to the complaint logged. Its very unsafe to take this model of Civic on highway or drive on high speed. They only keep giving false hopes that they will replace the steering rack. Although its a purely quality issue, one will be lucky if he/she really gets it replaced. The issue persists till now and Honda Pakistan is unable to resolve the issue in their production. I dont recommend anyone buying a Civic given the deteriorated quality and support. A zero meter car with such issues doesn't worth buying. A lot better options are there in the market today in this price range.
No complaints after facelift atleast. It was a global recall ..Atlas handled it poorly though.
