Steering oil change for Honda

Hi I have purchased Honda City 2007 it has driven 170000km and wanted to change all oil to keep it my record of maintenance history so I want to change steering oil should I change or not as steering is not doing any problem, but oil colour is black, if change then suggest best oil and place for change it in Karachi Clifton.

I had my power steering fluid flushed today. Bought Honda PSF for 1470 and my driver flushed it himself without starting the car. He bought a syringe, a transparent tube and a pen. 1) First he sucked all the old fluid and poured in the new. 2) He then removed the return pipe, inserted a new pipe in the psf bottle and sealed it with a pen. Use Original Honda PSF and get it flushed.

Sir I have no idea to change any good workshop you who does this

I helped my driver do it. Its not rocket science you can do it yourself with a friend or someone.

No workshop will do it properly imo

The bottle also needs to be changed in some instances if the internal screen filter is clogged badly.

In mild cases the bottle can be cleaned gently so you dont puncture the filter screen. If the bottle has baked on sludge inside then its usually a gone case.

New bottle is cheap though,

The suction hose also leaks (cheap too) and always replace the pump suction port Oring with a viton part so prevent air leak into suction which can cause noise.

Note: do not use a cheap rubber pipe to replace the power steering suction hose, the hose should be rated to handle hydraulic oils or automatic transmission oils.

If you use a regular rubber pipe, it will swell and collapse or leak. So best buy new genuine Honda part or at least nichirin branded hose (it will be moulded like original too)

Wait Honda City 2007 has EPS. Honda city’s after 2002 all have EPS. Which bottle are you checking oil from? EPS is electronic power steering and it does not take any oil.

Sir don’t know their is a bottle beside brake oil

That’s clutch cylinder oil it takes DOT 3 fluid. Ask your mechanic to flush and bleed it with new oil that’s it.emphasized text
