I have toyota starlet 86 local and I want to install 4EFTE engine in it, what do I have to change? my car is non-turbo. I had recently insatlled 4EFE engine but its performance is not up to the mark.

my opinion is to return back the 4efe and buy 4efte. if u want real performance use a 5efe block in the 4efte. it means 1500cc engine. and then u will feel the performance.
The amount of money you're going to spend getting a 4E-FTE Then a 5E Block With NON TURBO internals blowing up your main bearings everytime. Then actually running around to source them out, the cars' gonna tur into hassle than a joy to drive.
My advice to you is, just do a plain 4A-FE swap. Why?
You get a power upgrade from a 1.3 to a 1.6.
Parts readily available.
And given the EP70s weight the p/w ratio should work to your advantage as well.
alternativly if you're really wanna go for a turbo. go for a 4A-GE and turbocharge that. 4E-FTE churns 109kw (81.3 Hp) while a 4A-GE gives ya 120hp stock. Give and take the age factor that comes down to what 110 being critical. Thats still more than a Turboed 4E-FTE.
let me clear up somethings.a 4efe is about 90 hp.a 4afe is 115 hp.a 4age is 120(old version low compression) and 140 hp(new version high compression).a 4efte is 133 hp at 9 psi boost and in my opinion it is the best upgrade u can do to ur ep70/71 starlet.a 4afe requires more modifications to fit while 4efte requires very little modifications.so go for a 4efte.and a 5efe block will come very late in the modifications list so need for it yet.

4EFTE is not avaliable in Pakistan, If we import a 2nd Hand engine from Singapor then It will cost me around $1083 US Dollor. A 4AGE single throttle engine avaliable in the market along with some 4Throttle engines. I dont think that a 4Throttle engine will fit in a front wheel starlet. What should I do now? Is there any engine in 1.3 with twin cam intercooler turbo with VVTi, Please name it, I will try to find it in singapor.
I have a 86 starlet [EP70] with 1E-L engine. The engine seems to be heavy on fuel. could you please suggest any tip for performance boost and/or suggest a 1.0 or 1.3 lit suitable engine that can do the job and is available in lahore. thanks.

2E is 1.3 lit engine. right? Could you please justify your suggestion. Also let me know how much will it cost (an approx. figure). Will I have to change both engine and gearbox or just engine if I go for 2E?

Correct.
Transmission for the 1E and 2E are the same K50. 1E-L is a lean burn engine which shares its design with its 2E counterpart. Has the same mounts and dimensions.
well ch_kk it will cost u between 15-20 thousand with gearbox. and if u have to give ur engine then u have to pay less.

if u want the 4e-fte there are a bunch of em beeing imp in karachi by a friend.... u want it contact me..... n BTW the block n internals of a factory tuned engine are much stronger then the a-ge as they are forged....better to install the 4e-fte in it reduce some weight get some trim done give it some shots ur EP would fly

He's a real character, one post he's got VAFC mapping problems and the other has a CNG Civic with a MIL indicaing a CPS malfunction.
Thats what happens when you read too much "Import tuner"...lol
O god now u think tht was a prank or summin.......n this forged did not mean to be FORGED it was used as a substitute for stronger pistons.....as far as the VAFC-II there aint any problems I was just wanted to know some other better settings if any body has some..... n thx for your appreciation okz i never had any issue of the import tuner....

4A series engines better the 4E. Go for a 4A-FE if its street racing u want. with slight modification u can beat 90% of the cars out there. Better than that is a 4A-GE 20V. stock 4A-GE 20V would be the same as modified 4A-FE. Best should be 4A-GZE modified. Ive heard of modified 4A-GZE making in excess of 220HP. Think of that in a car such as the starlet! Lets not get carried away. Practicality suggests a 4A-FE 
good fuel consumption, good for scaring guys in VTi and Gli (older) and SE Saloons. do NOT go for a bigger displacement engine. Without sport suspension the car will understeer big time.
