Skardu or naran valley?

im very confused im from karachi
me with my family decided to go on hilly areas in end week of this june but we are confused that either our family should go to naran kaghan valley or skardu?
which one will be better place to visit for a family in your view?

Naran Kaghan is best....

due exellant views...

road and living facility.

Skardu is 30-36hours journey from Isb...

Naran is just 6 hours journey....

Hotels are good..

Both places have their own beauty,and shouldn't be compared.If u just want to go to hilly area then naran suits u,it's near and u can reach there by road has gud views to offer,greenary,waterfalls and lakes.BUT if u want to actually see the vastness, bareness and tallness of northern areas then go to skardu.driving to skardu is yet another experience but it's tiresome,but u can always fly into skardu.
IMO,skardu offers more to a traveler

if you have not been to mountains before.. it is suggested to go Kaghan valley.. it has less distance, easily accessible, lot of greenry, streams and glaciers..

going to Skardu is tiring and your family must be adventorous mind to enjoy the journey otherwise it may be little hectic!

if u want to enjoy greenery then goto naran....if u want to see giant peaks then goto Skardu/Gilgit...wesy i hv been to naran as well but i prefer skardu over naran...if u can go by air then that 45 min ride will provide u the most amazing sights u'll ever c....dats my opinion...may be i m wrong :D...wesy to be honest deosai is uncomparable...plan for Skardu if u r willing to go by air else goto naran!!!

I hve been to most famous hilly areas of Pakistan in Kashmir nd balistan.
In 2009, I hve visited muzzaffrabad, then all the way to KEL, SHAUNTER valley, then from Sharda via NOORI TOP to jhalkad, then to naran kaghan, then to siri paya, saif ul malok, LULUSIR lake, through BABUSIR PASS to chilas then to gilgit, Then in gilgit we went to Phinder lake and Hunza valley, then from gilgit to ASTORE and via CHELUM to DEOSAI PLAINS and SUSAR LAKE. Then from CHELUM to MANSEHRA and ABBOTTABAD and THANDIANI.
In 2010. I have visited to SKARDU on ATR-42 aircraft from ISLAMABAD. Then here I visited UPPER KACHURA LAKE and LOWER KACHURA LAKE (SHANGRILA). Then we visited via SATPARA LAKE to DEOSAI PLAINS from skardu to BARA PANI. Hence I have visited DEOSAI from both of its entrances from skardu and chelum.
Then 4rm skardu we travelled to GILGIT Via KKH. In GILGIT We again travelled through HUNZA VALLEY
In 2011 may, we again visited muzzaffrabad and PER CHINASI. Then we went to SUDHAN GALI in BAGH DISTRICT. Here we hiked GANGA CHOTI in 4 hours till its peak.
But all of those trips were with my friends and with my family it is first experience.
Sooooo that’s the confustion although I want to visit skadu due to one place DEOSAI is DEOSAI

i m PIA employee so i will get tickets but on chance. and i checked flight load of skardu till end of july and all flights are fully packed. so im automatically 70 % forced towards naran by bus, but still i got a chance to go skardu by booked seat on flight on 15 % pay.

skardu is not a destination, it is a base camp for other expeditions, treks, awaragardi, it is a city nestled in barren rocky mountains and river indus, it has its own beauty,,, u cant compare places

naran is lushgreen, easy access, valleyof lakes, many short excursions,,,

in my view if you have not seen kaghan valley,than visit naran else, fly to skardu...
