Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40 vs Caltex Havoline 5w-40

Dear fellows I want to know that which oil is better between shell helix ultra and Caltex havoline pro ds

both are good, Shell ultra fully synthetic is locally packed but imported oil and Catlex havoline fully synthetic in gold imported pack also slightly cheaper than Shell Ultra.

Sir . as I understand is that caltex is not packing in Pakistan and comes with its packing at the time of import ? Secondly which one is better

Both are equally good, but still; Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40 is better than Havoline Pro DS Fully Synthetic LE SAE 5W-40.
Shell is locally packed whereas Havoline comes as fully imported packaging (i.e. Oil, packing, everything is fully imported).
Havoline is slightly cheaper as compared to shell.
Havoline 1L pack amounts Rs. 820, 4L amounts Rs. 3200.
Shell amounts Rs 2745 for 3L pack (so roughly Rs. 915 for 1L)
Choose any of these 02, but ensure that oil is 100% genuine and original.

I am facing problem after switching from 5w-30 to 5w-40.

On 16-05-2018, I switched from SUSTINA 5W30 SN/RC to Havoline Pro DS Fully Synthetic LE SAE 5W-40 (since I was not able to get 5w-30 fully synthetic oil). I was like, mainay fully synthetic oil hi laina hai with API rating of SN. Agar 5w-30 na sai to 5w-40 hi sai, it is the next better to 5w-30.

Pehli baar tajurba kia aur pachtaa raha hoon.

Engine almost faut ho gya hai and is not picking power, because 5w-40 is more viscous as compared to 5w-30. Garmiyoon k lehaz sey to theek hai k viscosity behtar rahay gee 5w-30 k reference mein, but at the cost of engine performance and slightly increased fuel consumption.

Next time, when I will be changing oil, I will again revert to 5w-30 and harr kisi ko yei kahon ga k no need to switch to 5w-40 from 5w-30, unless absolutely necessary or engine is making problems.

5w-30 is the all rounder throughout the year and over all winner!

(5w-20, 5w-30 sey b behtar hai, but mostly in winters. Garmiyoon mein 5w-20 pani bann jye ga and may not provide sufficient lubrication.)

Actually ye thread mai Nai apnai Bhai k frnd k car k liye banaya tha. Lekin mai khud bhi apni gaari mai havoline 5w-40 use kr raha hun aur sir meri gaari tou bilkul perfect hai, even is oil k baad gaari k pick increase hoi hai agar 5w-30 sai compare karain, aur gaari ki awaaz bhi na honai k barabar hai. Fuel economy mai bas minor difference hai pehlai 140 pai 15.4 thi ab 15.1 hai. Mujhy Kai car experts Nai ye suggest kiya k aap gaari tez chalatay hain tou thick oil use kerain. 10w-40 Nai gaari k thora lazy ker diya. I bought havoline pro DS 5w-40 4L for Rs 2600 from authorized distributor. Mai Nai caltex Pakistan k website pai distributors list mai sai aik distributor sai kya tha is lye oil bhi original hai.

Chalein ye to phir achi baat hai.
Agar 5w-40 ko, 5w-30 k sath compare karein, then... mujhay hazam karnay mein thora time lagay ga!
Oil grade / viscosity also depends, and varies from vehicle to vehicle.
Which vehicle do you own? Whats the current odometer reading?
I own Toyota Passo X, 2013 model, almost 38,000 kms driven. To me, 5w-30 is the best oil grade.
Some fellows here own Toyota Corolla Altis Grande 1.8 CVT-i. To them, 5w-50 is the best; 5w-30 does not suit their vehicle (Its their first hand personal experience).
Agar aap 10w-40 sey 5w-40 p shift hoon gey, then definitely, farq to paray ga. Performance of engine will become better.

And Yes, Rs. 2600 mein 4L oil aapko kafi sasta aur reasonable price p mill gya hai.
Would you mind sharing the name and location of the distributor, from where you bought the oil?

Sir ye I've 2 cars. Gli 2013 silver and white. White one is having 5w-40 oil in it and on the other hand silver is having 5w-30 oil in it, both cars are treated the same , all fluids, tuning, spark plugs, all necessary work is done for both, white one's current odo reading is 94764km and silver's 89034km

Sir actually white wali jis mai 5w-40 oil hai ye gaari mai Nai zero meter li thi so mai gaari k aik aik cheez janta hun. Doosri Jo silver hai Woh mai nai second hand li hai apnai cuzn sai 15lac 30k ki at 81500km driven at that time aur Woh 5w-30 dalta tha so I continue to pour . Is waja sai dono ki performance k pata chal jata hai .
