Sharan Forest (Kaghan Valley)

In June 2010, me and my friends visited Sharan Forest in Kaghan Valley. It is a couple of hours of jeep drive from the town of Paras. Unlike other tourist attractions of Kaghan Valley, Sharan is situated on other side of River Kunhar.

We left Naran at about 9 AM and reached Paras at 11 AM. From Paras, it took 2.5 hours to reach Sharan. We spent about 3 hours there and then moved towards Shoogran.

Its a place where I'd love to go again. Back then, my friends didn't want to stay there and I wanted to camp there for a night and to further explore the forest

@asif bhai whats the status of the road? (i heard it was destroyed completely in 2010)

Destroyed? How? I think you're mistaking. There's only a jeep road that leads to Sharan and I can't see how it could be destroyed.

actualy the bridge was broken but now its repaired as i went after floods. the jeep track was also damaged but its still in working condition and jeeps go regularly

track to sharan forest is ok... regularly in use... i visited in feb 2011 and jeep took us upto jabra village...ahead was snow bound so we trekked from there

Thanks bro. February must be a better option to visit Sharan because it was unbearably hot in the month of June.

Paramount adventure club recently did an event of winter survival to Danna Meadows with almost 8feet snow level. They faced 3 feet snow in one night last weekend.
