Rpm fluctuating on idle

I bought a 95 civic and swapped the engine with a d15b 3 stage Vtec.However I am running it with the p08 instead of a p2j. The issue is that when the engines temperature gauge reaches the middle (normal), the rpm starts fluctuating between 1300 and 900 constantly, it does not stablilize. It stabilizes when i turn on the ac. Is this the fault of the ecu or the throttle body?
Another issue is that one of the plugs stops working at times but usually its fine. when its not working the current does not go to one of the injectors and the race of the car is not smooth ofcourse. Is this related to the ecu? because the plugs are new. Kindly let me know i would be obliged

nice setup bro, idle issue could be due to IACV valve located at throttle bottle, try to clean it with caby cleaner if still u face idle issue then u might need to replace the valve n rest the issue of plug bro, i cant get it if the plug not working how it starts? try to check your ignition coil inside distributor or change its plugs wire with some of your friend car's just for test purpose if its work then replace them.

thanks for the reply, I cleaned the IACV with Wd40 last night but to no avail.:(. is wd40 the same as caby cleaner or is it something different?

one of the plugs stops working at times but usually it is fine. the rest of the 3 plugs work completely fine.

First do not use wd40 for such job it is not recommended it could not clean that much as carby cleaner, what about check light is on or any codes? if one of your plug is not working than car cannot stand on idle it will start missing, just like if u pop out plug wire while start motor.

Ye meri car mai b hota tha.. AC k asth kafi stable but wese 1500 to 900 rpm k darmyan fluctuate hota tha.. Spark plugs ka issue tha..

no check light is on.and yes when one of the plugs stops working then the car indeed does not stand stable it starts missing.

How did you fix it? change the plugs?

1: Replace the wrong ECU. Sell your P08 here and get a P2J. Even a P2J auto is fine.

2: Get rid of these good for nothing plug wires, get stock ones from Bilal Gunj. Replace all plugs.

Do you have 2 wire IACV on the back of your IM, or a 3 wire one at the bottom of TB? Try to clean and lubricate it. Follow the proper procedure. (Just google for it, or download workshop manual). Do check for any air leaks. And your engine stabilize to what RPMS when you turn on the AC?

Why, infact 'how' for that matter, would ECU stop an injector if plug is not firing? Have you checked your injectors? Does this happen at any certain RPMS range? Do you feel hesitation or surge in throttle response at times?

bro, also check the distributor..

unstable rpm at idle is normally because of distributor malfunction.

But will i have to change the wiring as well with the new ecu?

RPM stabilizes to 800 when i turn on the AC. Without the AC it just keeps on fluctuating rapidly between 1000 and 1300. I just cleaned the IACV thoroughly even with petrol and put it back but it did not fix the problem at all. The prob is with the plugs then?

The second one is the replace the plugs & see if it still fluctuates most probably the problem will solve after changing the plugs but if it’s still there then check you fuel lines & see if you the cylinders are getting equal amount of fuel on low revs.<o:p></o:p>

Throttle body needs cleaning in my opinion,as my civic 07 was giving the same issue,and after cleaning and getting the ecu reset 95% issue is resolved ..

Got the plugs changed and throttle body services but it did not solve the problem at all.:(..The honda ppl said the problem is with the throttle body sensors maybe but the electrician says they are ok. Now what do i do? How do i reset the ecu? and do i get the distributor fixed or changed? how much is a new one?

The idle air control valve is also working fine got that checked too.

if you have digital multimeter and service manual do check the resistance values for all the related sensors yourself, for example IACV and throttle body sensor and check which one is out of specified values.
