I am having a rough idling issue in 1nz fe 1.5 with electronic throttle body. Its been 2 years and no one seems to understand it. When oxygen sensor wire is unplugged it becomes smooth. Also when autogear shifter wire is removed, it also become smooth. The ECU is japanese language one. The ECU scanner does not show any thing. Once a mechanic tried to put a rubber flap on airfilter intake . With that it becomes smooth for two months but started to rough idle again. My car engine stalls after rough idling after some time. It rough idles in parking and neutral. it does not stall or rough idle in driving or reverse mode.

take out spark plug and share pic here. so by judging plugs we can further move forward

yes nothing cane out. It gave TPS code once. After TapS got serviced, it did not come back. Once for oxygen sensor that too was changed.

Sparks plugs were installed new. And according to all electricians and mechanics they are in good condition. Injectors from xli are also installed. previous were blacked out. Either they were in bad condition during the swapped or something went wrong in just 10k kilometers

In Toyota oxygen sensor aka exhaust sensor plays a huge role too in idling. So you have to log fuel trims data on idle, and plug condition.

Issue is resolvable so don't worry.

I also believe there is issue with wiring as well. Today may car had a hole in exhaust/bhatti when car makes a loud sound, so it was not stalling after rough idle.

ideal idle rpm is 600-800. 1k is high. first of all check TB butterfly and see sidewall in sunlight. no light should pass it

Update. My rough idling is corrected now. Took it to a mechanic in nearby town rajana. He is from my hometown pir mahal. He is a mechanical engineer. He did not tell what was the issue. The guy is infamous for not sharing information. If you insist, he refuses to do your work. He charges me 3500 for it. Idling rpm is around 700. With AC its around 1100. I can hardly sense my engine is running if ac is not on. This is very pleasant experience for me. Thank you all for your help
