Road travel from karachi to peshawar

Hi Everybody,

I am planning to travel from Karachi to Peshawar in mid of August 2012.
I want information from members about following querries.

1. which is the best route:
   Karachi - sukkur - Bahalwapur - Lahore - Peshawar though National Highway and Motorway
   or Karchi - Sukkar - Shikarpur - DG Khan - DI Khan - Peshawar though National highway & Indus highway

2. Which is more secured and fast track if one is travelling with family?

3. Is there any good hotel available in D I Khan for overnight stay there with family? if anyone can help me with providing phone number of the hotel, please.

4. What is the availability of CNG on this route of Indus Highway.
5. Is the D I Khan - Peshawar segment of this route safe enough for family travel?

best route is krachi-sukhar-sadiq abad -rahim yaar khan-tarnda muhmmad panak-head punjnad- alipur-muzfar garah.chowk azam-d.i.khan and Peshawar. its best rout. doubble road. and good road condation.

Thanx janab pktun sahib--nadeem sahib iss road pr kuch jaga pr cng ka prob hy but its not big prob krachi se sindh k area tuk her jaga cng easly mill jati hy. sadiq abad Rahim yaar khan .Tranda muhammad panah tuk cng mon,tue,wed ko available hoti hy, T,M panah se cng mil jaye gi uss k baad app ko khan garh se milly gi muzfar garh se mily gi or last Chowk munda se haftey k 7 din mily gi because chowk munda k cng pump chemical gillani urf Mousa gillani k hain son of old pm gillani or uss k baad app ko meanwali se cng mill sakti hy.but sari cng he mutt chalyen thora sa petroll bhi chala leen gari ki sehat k ley acha hota hy. engine bhi app ko duaen de ga. Thanx or bhi ko information chahey tu bunda hazer hy.

some members say that this route has security problems although most say that it is the shortest..

Je yaqeenan. kabhe kabhe car engine ko petrol k mazay b dilanay chahye, warna cng pee pee k moonh ka zaiqa kharab ho jaiga uss ka.

the route that Saeed11 told you is the best one, just make sure you cross SINDH in day light ... better leave after fajar namaz

brother nadeem Shikarpur - Dera Ghazi khan - D I Khan route on Indus highway beshak short hy but road condation is not good secondally no cng pump on this road cng app ko dera ghazi khan se melly gi i personally drive on this road enthai sunsaan road hy koi safety ya police gashat nahi hy especelly evening drive is dangers. jo rout main ny app ko pehly batya hy wo best hy agar app ko uss rout pr punjab k area main raat ko drive bhi kurna para to safe route hy. baqi (The Choice is YOurs.)

mujhe bus yahi maloom karna tha k indus highway pa kia koi seriuos law & order ka masla ha ya phir road ke physical condition achi nahi ha.
aap kia mujhe koi hotel suggest kar saktay hain rastay ma raat guzarnay k liye. koi aisa hotel jis ma family k sath raat ko ruka ja sakay. i hv kids with me as well. i think night will fall somewhere around muzaffargarh on this route. so is there any good hotel around?

nadeem bhai its not a big issue Ali pur main bhi app ko achy hotel mill jaye gy if u reache Muzafar garh wahan bhi achy hotel hain Muzafar garah se agay road condation achi hy if u reach Chowk Azam tu wahan bhi app night stay kur sakty hain.

Instead of Shikarpur, if you proceed on the right bank of Indus after Sakkhar, you can get CNG in Pannu Aaqil on main rd.
At Obarho, just few km after crossing Dargah Alia Bharchandi on the main rd, you turn to the left and cross the Power House and Ghulam Muhammad Birage to go to the left bank of Indus. Now travel on Indus Highway. This area should be travelled in day time. The road is good. Next CNG available is in DG Khan, Karak and Kohat.

At DI Khan, you can stay at Hotels like the Hilton Hotel (near State Life Building in the city) and Midway Hotel, another hotel on the river bank, probably the good choice. You can purchse the city speciality, Sohan Halwa from good shops inside the city to enjoy your eid.(H)

If you have second driver with you, leave Karachi at 10 pm, reaching Sukkar at 07 am. By adopting this way, you can reach DI khan well before 05 00 pm. Spend the evening with your family on the Indus river bank, from where you can not see the other side of the river. Such a mighty river.
