All Authorize dealership are using Total Lubricant in Toyota & honda I m using Geniune Toyota & Honda lubricant as made by Total for my cars since long time, & both cars performs pretty good
Well, 5/30 is fuel saving & very good engine oil. But I don't know why I always doubt about the quality of the engine oils by domestic companies like Total, Shell, Castrol, Caltex,.. Their bottle shows this & that, this & that. But inside bottle, not sure that actual oil really possess those qualities/properties or not. My experience for using & suggesting local oils is not good and hence I shifted to imported oils like PTT, LM, Kixx, etc. which are faaaar better in performance as compared with these local oils.
Majority of the consumers give their preferences to use "Company's oil" for which company they are having Car. But infact, all these car companies buy the oils from other manufacturers like Caltex, total, shell, mal, etc. Tag the bottles and earn the big profits.
My research says, Faaaaar better performance oils are available in Pakistan (the imported ones). But it will take years for us to know, find and use the righteous oil for our car. Its rock hard to change the mentality of the people who already feel themselves earnestly satisfied with havoline 20/50, Zic hiflow, etc. whereas these oils are very very less capable.
Man - you are surely stuck in some weird mentality here.
You are assuming that oils are not good without actually testing them in a full blown analysis. Secondly the engines you are running them in are not super duper extreme performance, lugged to death engines. They are generic shopping carts.
KIXX, ptt etc etc dont magically become superior because some khaipya won an old warehouse auction somewhere outside of Pakistan. Oils are graded according to performance specs for emmissions, lubricity, thermal stability etc. Every oil container have them printed on it.
Total lubricants are best for vehicles. Iam using Total Quartz 9000 in my Honda City 2013, Total Quartz 5000 in my Cultus 2012.. Both oils are xcelent and performed very very good. Better then zic and helix
Dear Please see the world ranking of major lube companies, operating globally. Hope it will clear your doubts. There is no mentioning of PTT, LM, Kixx etc.
The companies operating globally would never compromise on quality in any part of the world, as there are standards to be followed. Based on it their quantity is maintained.
@goodman7 I'd like to know which car manufacturer recommends or approves you to use ptt or kixx oil. Shell helix ultra exceeds API SN/CF* and has a list of approvals which you should read. It is also filled in every ferrari- even the formula 1 race cars.
I think you are the person who should change your perspective towards things manufactured in your own country. No offence intended bro.
Who have time to take samples of same grade/same viscose local & imported oils to the lab and have them tested and post results here? Here in Pak. its not engine oils that are running cars, these are infact our minds. If Mr. X is satisfied with shell hx3 20/50 and changing after 5K, then he will be happy, he will feel his engine happy with it too. Conversely totally ignoring the actual oil change interval of this oil is 3~3.5K. So its not the oil, but its mind that keep us satisfied about the oil that we are consuming (this strategy purely based on Pak. mentality).
So, majority of our brothers are satisfied with using local mineral oils and its changing intervals. They will never know that some good imported oils are available for better performance & results. They will just say "Oh. Imported oils, just leave them, all are fake." Infact I'll call it ignorance and lack of awareness.
Shell, Exxon Mobil, Cheveron, Sinopec, etc. are good & big international companies. But its also true that they don't have single factory to supply their products to the whole world. I'll grow old by writing it number of times, that quality of the shell's or total's or exxon's or cheveron's, etc. engine oils are different with respect to countries. Plz understand this open truth. Quality of the lubricants varies from country to country. Because Toyota's cars Made in Japan, Made in USA, Made in Europe, etc. all cars are not same. There are some differences. Similarly Mobile companies, Electronics manufacturers, etc. etc. there are number of examples for us to understand. All the base oils is coming from SA & UAE mainly. But its been blended with additives over here. "Fuel Quality is also very very important factor". I know Zulfiqar will never get agree on it, but I've already asked it to number of people and just zulfiqar is the only one who is just disagreeing with it because he want to keep his dominance as a keeper of superior knowledge. But its true, fuel quality is among the major factors that effect.
I personally call Shell, Caltex, Castrol, etc. are local companies because they are blending oils here. I've tons of knowledge to share here, but always think about the ignorance of the majority who will oppose first rather than being agree.
Pak. made mineral oils (means from shell, total, etc,) are only good for 3~4K. Driving them over will bring serious harms for engines. Whereas LM mineral oil 20/50 is recommended for 5K minimum. And if the fuel quality is better, then even till 6K is OK. PTT Mineral oil 4~4.5K. So where is the quality of shell/total as compared with PTT & LM?
Infact they do & certainly do. If not compromise, then we may call it modification. Because car engines & operating conditions are not same in the whole world.
PTT & Kixx are not local oils. So Pak. made engines can never recommend it. But surely the origins from where these oils have came, they certainly do. Very important: Why my most suggestions go for PTT, LM, Kixx? Because these are the only available well known engine oils available in Lahore. There are hundreds of other good oil companies too. But unluckily we are having only few options available here. That’s why.
For shell ultra, I agree its very supreme quality oil. But if you buy this oil from Pak. and send to Formula 1 race cars in USA, then am sure it will not win. LOL
Some times changes happens immediately. But sometimes it takes decades. So the engine oil is the thing that will take decades for sure for majority of our brothers to get aware about it.
Quartz 7000 and 9000 is imported one, not packed here. Very good value for money and can be used for 10k km easily in our conditions with filter change in between.
Even locally packed ones are fine. Using quartz 5000 in one of my cars and works perfectly fine.
1) Nobody recommends PTT or KIXX. If somebody does-who? 2) Have a little faith in Pakistan. You yourself are Pakisistani and practically calling yourself a cheater. Not all oils are fake. What do you have to say for the cars that have done 300k+ kms on the same engine with caltex havoline 20w-50?
