Toyota Altis 1.6 AT Full Review and comparison with Honda Civic 1.8 AT.

After 3 Week of driving this is a review of Toyota Altis 1600cc with 4-Speed Automatic transmission and comparison with Honda civic 1800cc with 5-Speed automatic Transmission. i have tried to cover the all aspect of Car but i forgot something sorry about that.
Altis 1.6 AT :
9/10 Points Toyota Altis is a flagship sedan car from Indus toyta which is built in pakistan. The facelift in 2011, Headlights, back lights and rear bumper lights are better looking than previous Lights. The overall build quality is good.The new wooden paneling shade is excellent. However there are some issue with it.
- All Toyota car ECU installed under bonnet and inverted. if you wash your car then water can damage the ECU. for that you have to purchase a Rs 500 cover and install by yourself. i think if we are paying 1.9Million we should get this by factory standard.
- The door Handle paint is ruff and its for all color. they just paint simple XLI door Handle and installing in Altis too. which feel a bit ruff when seen under light.
- The speaker is a bit third class as compare to CD player. The Audio Player is "Pioneer FH-P6050UB". the best thing about this player is it support USB flash drives and USB HardDrive Upto 250GB. i don't watch DVD in car so its perfect for me to copy music and listen in car.
- The driver seat has no Height adjustment if some low height person want to drive than it might be issue for him.
- On some place Toyota does not cover the screws with plastic covers.
- There is not proper space to place Jack and tools in trunk. you just hide with Spare Tyre. and on some dirty road it might give noise.
Civic 1.8 AT : 9.5/10Points
Honda Civic 1.8 AT is also a flagship sedan car from Honda Pakistan.its 1800cc so definitely the review will compensate that. the build quality of civic is excellent. they have installed waterproof ECU cover from factory. does not to worry about. In design and Style the Civic has a bit edge over Altis. but there a few issue with civic also
- The door open and closing is a bit noisy than Altis.
- Dash is very good in style make noise when drives on ruff road.
- Speaker are good in civic but aftermarket install need to cut some space. it would better if Honda uses a standard size.
Performance
i am reviewing performance on the base of acceleration, handling,breaking,fuel average, driving experience(not technical but my own opinion and observation) 
Altis 1.6 AT : 9.00/10 Points

Acceleration: Acceleration of Altis is good with respect to 1600cc. in city on normal driving mode easily reach 80km/h under 10sec.i do not mean any drag race. but normal simple acceleration. a bit down power is due to better fuel economy.

Handling: Handling is equal important with acceleration. The Electric Steering on Altis is Superb:). its soft and lighter and have edge over Civic. when driving on Road the steering feel responsive and it works very good in tight curve and round abouts. I don't do out of limit testing sorry for that. but i think the handing is superb on Altis.

Breaking: Breaks on Altis are also 4-wheels disc equipped with ABS and EBS. i tried hard braking on speed breakers and on empty road . the breaking is superb and equally good to civic.No Doubt about that

Fuel Average: Fuel Average is better on Altis 1.6 due to Dual VVTi and low Horsepower engine than previous gen altis which was 1.8. i Drove the car in city as my daily routine is , nothing special . i found the Fuel Average 10KM/Liter (City) without ECO Mode. and on highway it is around 16kM/Liter (Highway). My 1000km check up is due in this month so it might be better after 1000km check up. Cruise Control is very excellent if you are driving on motorway. This is my first car with Cruise control. and i simply love it:P.I will Also update my fuel average after 1000KM checkup.

Driving Experience: Overall Driving experience is superb on Altis. ride is soft and suspension absorbs the bumps better than civic. the ride is silent and smother. Engine remain silent @ 120Km/h. you can feel the gear shift on Altis a bit. but overall if you want a good car then you go for it. if you want to drive car for racing and other purpose don't buy it:P. i was not toyota fan but i am loving altis. I will say 1 line to all Honda Lover. if you get chance to drive altis 1.6AT and than you will like it. on web its difficult to understand the both cars:).
Civic 1.8 AT : 9.25/10 Points

Acceleration: Acceleration of Civic is mind blowing with respect to 1800cc. in city driving easily reach 100km/h under 10sec.i do not mean any drag race. but normal simple acceleration from a stop light to onward:P. Not just wins but humiliate the Altis in acceleration.

Handling: Handling is excellent of civic. The power Steering civic is sporty and have a bit resistance to keep drive active:P. The Steering Build Quality is excellent and as well the Oval design is simply awesome. Steering feel connected and responsive and its also very good in tight curve and round abouts. the design of civic seats is bucket style which provide extra handling feeling in tight curse and racing mode:P

Breaking:Breaks on Civic are also 4-wheels disc equipped with ABS.i had chance to apply the hard break on civic few time in practical, belief me its very good and superb. Civic has equal breaking review my side.

Fuel Average:Fuel Average is not good on civic 1.8 due to 1800cc and 140bhp engine. i Drove the car in city from few year . i found the Fuel Average 7- 8KM/Liter (City). and on highway it is around 13-14kM/Liter (Highway). if you buy civic than also buy a patrol pump just kidding. a bit thirsty car but with satisfying performance :).

Driving Experience: Overall Driving experience is excellent on Civic. Ride is a bit bumpy and suspension absorbs lights bumps only. the ride is silent. Engine is also silent @ 120km/h. you can feel the gear shift on civic too but have to be attentive. Good for Neat and clean road. also good if you want to have some fun:P you know what i am saying. Honda make car to only perform Excellent driving experience. Toyota make car for luxury style approach with wide body and fuel average is always Toyota's priority . Want sporty drive car buy Civic(H)
Features & Safety
both car’s has some features which other don’t have let’s talk about that.
Let’s cover the features I liked in Altis and which I don’t liked.
- Altis come with Cruise Control. When people say it’s useless I think they are talking about” grapes are sour”. It’s my first experience but I loved this on. Please try it out don’t listen to people.
- Altis Display your fuel average and current fuel average deposing upon your speed and driving style. And range which is good feature and let you know how much Km you can drive before worrying about refueling.
- Altis does come with ECO mode which adjusts the throttle response and fuel injector setting. If you are not sporty driver or want more fuel economy in city and highway. It’s pretty neat feature.
- The New “Optitron” looks excellent. I myself now set on civic digital meter. But in analog class it’s superb.
- Come with pioneer audio player which is a bit decent and has USB playback.
- The gate type gear shift lever is superb and love it. I don’t like lever with button.
- Comes with 2 keyless Entry Key. If you break one than you could use other.
- Two split glove box are good for easy and sorted storge.
Cons:
- My only –ive point for Altis is, it has only driver side airbag. It should come with passenger side at least.
- Altis does not have immobilizer, which is a bit added security for car safety.
- Does not offer GPS Navigation from factory like Honda.
- Seats should be better like civic, I mean bucket style
- Should have height adjusted driver seat.
- Should come with ECU Waterproof cover from factory if someone does not know he can damage his ECU which is pretty much expensive.
- The mirror adjustment button should be on driver door rather than on dashboard.
- Should have electric button for fan speed control , air setting rather than noobs in altis.
Civic 1.8 AT : 9.0/10 Points
Honda Civic has also some pros and cons.
Pros:
- Civic Split meter is superb for readability and look good.
- Civic come with OEM Style 6- CD Changer and the big button are really easy to operate the player audio system is superb.
- Civic Comes with Immobilizer which is good for car security and safety.
- Acceleration is the main edge over Altis.
- Bucket style seating is very good feature and you can adjust the height of driver seat.
- Have 2 SRS Air bags one for driver and one for passenger.
- The mirror adjustment buttons are on door panel which is neat and easy to set.
- The digital air flow button looks nice.
Cons:
- Civic must have USB audio playback by default.
- Must have cruise control (can be installed) but Honda is saving $.
- Parts are really expensive.
- Fuel average is too bad in city.
- Civic must have fuel average meter and as well as Range meter.

A superb car with good fuel average and comfortable ride. The driving experience is good. Target people are who want a car with durability, cheap maintenance and fuel economy with comfort.

Honda Civic 1.8 AT:Overall Rating 9/10
A great car with sporty driving experience and comfortable ride.Target people are those who want to look (H). A car with performance,style and smooth ride. the fuel average is a bit downside on civic but it may not matter for fun drivers. comfort level is also superb but parts are a bit expensive. Young generation under 25 is fan(H) and will kill me if i said anything else.
i will keep you updated about my Fuel Average on Altis. Any Comments suggestion are welcome.& Please don't mind if you don't agree with my observations.
