Reserve Fuel Capacity

Dear PWers,

             What is the exact amount of reserve fuel capacity in Cultus. Its fuel tank get filled up in 30 liters from "End" mark to "Full" one. But I think there is some reserve capacity available in it as Cultus is not equipped with reserve fuel indicator. Do share your views.

               You can also share figures for reserve fuel capacity and tank capacity for different cars.

Carry a gallon full of petrol with you. keep driving until your car stops due to petrol finished in fuel tank. fill the tank with the gallon of petrol with you. Go to a fuel pump and fill the tank completely. Whatever you filled plus the gallon you added to get to the pump minus the fuel consumed to get to the pump is the gross tank capacity. 30 lit minus the gross capacity is the reserve :D.

Have a look at your manual, e.g in my case civic, it is written in manual that reserve turns on at ~6litres

there is nothing like reserve fuel capacity, it is just a sensor in tank float valve set to activate a lamp in dash fuel guage, normally it lit up when approx 1.35 gallons or 6-8 litres of fuel is left in the tank, in high fuel consuming vehicles of 4200 CC or above the level is set to 2 gallons or 10 litres equivalent. High end vehicles have cluster display for fuel left in tank, & fuel consumption every 180 seconds thanks to Onboard computers & sensors.
