Assalam-u-Alaikum....
During recent snow in Quetta, I started my car early in the morning (without Antifreeze) and kept it idle for a while. After a while I moved out and drove for about 14 kms. To cut it short, in the evening I heard a loud sound from the bonnet side but didn't pay attention.
On the third day, after 26 km, car battery light was on and it switched off in the Car Park.
I opened the Bonnet and to my dismay, the Car has pushed open the radiator hose pipe and the Serpentine belt was missing. I remembered it was two days earlier it broke Down.
In search of Serpentine Belt, Bando Belts; American made, are the best. The Shop owner gave me Bando pk1180 belt for 650 Rs while the internet revealed that Intenrnationally Corolla 2007 use Bando pk1880. Its then that I came to Know that Pakistani XLI use 2NZ-FE engines which are used in Yaris Internationally.
To change Corolla 2007 XLI Serpentine belt, follow the steps. It's very easy.
1. Mark A line on lever holder and lever for alignment and Loosen the Nut on the lever at the Generator (Remember, Corolla 2007 doesn't have Tensioner, so all is manual). Check the Photos for Detail.
2. Take away the used Belt if Any.
3. Keep the following diagram in mind.

4. After checking the pullys, put the new belt as per the diagram and check for correct alignment.
5. After checking, put a lever between the engine and the generator to give the belt the required tension as Tensioner is not available in Corolla 2007 and all has to be manual. I did it this way
6. Apply the pressure and Tighten the screw with 12 mm Spanner. Check the belt for Tension.
You are Good to Go.
