Refrigerators reviews in Pakistan

Aslam-o-Alikum,

There is already discussion on this topic but its too Old (2013). I need reviews to buy a Refrigerator in Pakistan.

my budget is 45000 maximum, must be energy efficient and longer cooling. We all knows energy conditions specially in Summer. In market shop keepers prefer to sell Dawlance or PEL but here on pakwheels i read reviews of year 2013 where people highly not recommended these two brands. Now I am confused to buy Haire, LG, Orient or any other brand. Till now I had a National and its working fine since last 35 years, but right now there is a rust and plastic ceiling is damaged due to which it cannot contain cooling for a longer time.

Yup, those home appliances made by NATIONAL never seem to die! We had a National Fridge too and lasted for bloody 40 Years, I used to hang on to its door for a swing (JHOOLA!!!) when I was a wee little baby!
Anyhow, I'm in no way a Fridge Expert, not even close. But in my opinion, Dawlance is the best fridge maker, period!
I bought one about 6 years ago, and it's been running like a champ ever since (ALHAMDULILAH)!
Besides, most fridge these days from any reputable company are so durable that it'll outlast your semi-ancient National Fridge if cared properly...
Fridges aren't like our motorcycles, man. Fridges quality is increasing over time!

P.S Even if you've zero intention to buy online, just use it as a 'price guide'. This way, you won't have to survey the market and waste your precious time and money... Hope it helps.

Buy any fridge brand but just do one thing before buying. Say the shop keeper to show you the back side of it (where pipes, condenser, compressor etc are installed). Most local brands these days have very lush push fronts, glass doors, shiny finish and bla bla but very poor workmanship on back side.
We bought a Dawlance last year, same thing happened. On shop keeper's advice we just bought it, but when we opened it and saw its back side, it was really pathetic. Most pipes were just hanging around, no proper fitting, condenser had no metallic supporting frame even (only pipes were whirling around).
Therefore never buy a fridge before seeing it from all around.

I would suggest you to buy a non frost fridge especially if you are living in Karachi. Avoid PEL as my experience with it was not very well. Rubber sealing caught fungus and became distorted. I bought an LG non frost (Korean) in 2007 and it's working perfectly. I would suggest Dawlance or Haier. Best would be to survey the market before buying.
