Recommendation required for oil in front shocks

Hi
I have cHonda 70 bike 2009 model ,its shocks are not working fine. I have in the past replaced its oil three times and replaced its seals few times. But every time havoline engine oil was used by mechanic.

This time I would like to replace its oil and springs myself.

Please suggest some good oil that's specifically used in these. Anyone who used proper oil and noticed any difference compared to using engine oil in it?

Also the shocks are 8 years old would replacing springs need good for front shocks?

You can use ATF OR Power steering fluid in front forks.
Proper fork oil is not available in Pakistan if it is then it's very hard to find.
I have used ATF and Power steering fluid both in front shock absorbers of my CD70 in past and both work fine.
Power steering fluid is preferable than ATF change interval of ATF is very less.
Compared to engine oil shocks will respond better and will be a bit soft too.
BTW if the rod's are scratched from outside then they would not be able to seal the PSF OR ATF.

Sorry don't know about exact quantity as i got it done from a mechanic.... But he hardly used 150ML approx in both.
The one's i used were ATF was from ZIC and power steering fluid was from STP.

Does power steering fluid have any ratings to it like engine oil ha?
Any small woul be great. I will buy that.

Most of the power steering fluids are pretty much universal except Honda power steering fluid those are a bit different.

None knows wtf is fork oil.

Warco costs 300 other costs 550.

Warco will also work fine. No need to spend extra on Kixx.

@Xulfiqar Bro do you know any brand of fork oil available locally on Pakistan. Any idea of price?

Don't change oil until it leaks.
The oil that comes in it is fork oil and that oil isn't available locally..
Engine oil will ruin it.

Bough this stp power steering fluid 350ml for 250rs.
970ml was for 450rs.

Anyone know what is exact oil quantity for 70cc dhoom etc shocks?

I lost owners manual.It was mentioned there.

If someone who has owners Manoa can check it for me.
For any cHondaz I think it's same.

Removed the old oil from the shocks and then cleaned them and poured in STP Power steering oil 80ml. As per attached description from a book.

shock rod spring called pump spring which is hardly 2-3cm was also replaced, don't know if it was needed in any way..

I had bought the bigger longer springs but they were very thin Dia compared to my stock.

Though when I inserted the original/existing springs in my shock tube they were parallel to the surface of the tube.. The new ones were 2-3cm longer but were thin so didn't replaced them.will return these and search for those fat springs. Dhoom shocks are very different from normal 70/hero etc. It's spring etc isn't available easily.

So far the front shocks have definitely improved but needs to be tested for few days.

rear shocks are not in good health and are squeaky. I will do their work from a mechanic and see if things improves.

Malai ki Tara soft ho gaya hain shocks. Awesome as smooth and soft as Piaggio or new .i would reconsider all to use stp power steering fluid in front shocks and in dhoom pour at least 85ml.. Though he shock masters recommended me 120 ml.. Will try that or if someone tries it doesn't update us.

Conclusion never ise engine oil in shocks.
Use either power steering oil or atf or 2 stroke oil of pso can/packed one not open one in above given order

Fork oil are not easily available but I've found it in Peshawar Muqaddar Autos service dealer of Yamaha and for me it is the best option ATF is for dirt bike and sometimes use for temporary bases STP is not recommended as shock absorber.
