Quick spring tour of Hunza with some trekking to Passu Glacier

Crash Trip to Upper Hunza - Pasu - Gojal

I think I have fallen in love with Pasu - Upper Hunza - Gojal. Went there for the first time last year in July with my family. Have been longing to be there again ever since. The longing became too intense lately, hence I drove 24 hours non stop without breaking the journey, only small stop overs for meals etc. I even managed to convince my younger brother and two of my friends to join me in this lunatic journey. Once there, had dinner at my favourite Glacier Breeze Restaurant and went to sleep…

I have been to Hunza in Summer and Winter. This year we planned to visit Hunza in Spring. I also wanted to test my new vehicle, so we planned another quick tour, taking into advantage the Pakistan Day holiday, combining with Sunday and taking Friday and Saturday off, turning it into a long weekend.

Participants: I along with my younger brother who is a travel enthusiast and two of my childhood friends.

Vehicle: My newly acquired Hyundai Terracan with a Toyota 5VZ engine.

Details: Started the journey at 10pm on March 22 via Motorway. Reached Passu at about 8 pm on March 23 with almost non stop traveling. Stopped for meals and refueling and at some picturesque spots to take pictures. Spent one night at Passu (Shisper View hotel, booked via booking.com at a special rate). Had dinner at my favourite Glacier Breeze Hotel. Slept like logs the whole night and had breakfast again at Glacier Breeze. Drove towards Khunjerab but found out near Batura Glacier that we cannot go all the way, so dropped the Khunjerab trip and went to Borith Lake and Trekked till Passu Glacier. Moved to Karimabad with a short stop over at Atta Abad lake. Took the guided tour of Baltit Fort and had dinner at Hidden Paradise (Authentic Hunza Food spot). Did some shopping and checked in to Hunza Embassy Hotel. In the morning decided to start our return journey in one stretch, against initial plan of staying the night at Chillas.

Reached Lahore at around 8 am.

I couldn't even upload the pictures taken by DSLR due to some size limitations.

If anyone wants to know anything about any picture or generally about any aspect of the trip, I will be more than happy to assist. Right now I am a little put off as I couldn't share all I wanted to in the way I wanted to.

Nice trip!!! Glacial breeze is indeed one of the best hotels of that region. Why was khunjerab pass access denied?

There were not even traces of snow on the trek from Borith Lake to Passu Glacier. It was a lovely sunny day.

Indeed Glacier Breeze is the best and the owner has become a good friend as well. Access to Khunjerab was denied as it was too bright and sunny chances of slippery road due to sleet.
