Salaam fellow Pwheelers..My nana used to own a fiat 600,,car was in running condition till 2001 when its gasket got blowed out due to radiator leakage(when going to chakwal via motorways)..After that it remained in the sleeping garage in my village for a decade..My nana passed down the car to my mother instead of my 2 mamu jaan's who were very interested in obtaining the ride..My Nana passed away in late 2001,,and as now i am in control as per my family wishes i am restoring the Italian classic..The engine is original and registered in KHI..It used to roam Khi roads back in late 80s and early 90s were people used to call it SAABUN DANI

The curent condition :
The car is now in Islamabad,,underwent overhaul and is on stock piston with piston rings replaced..
Here in federal area there is no classic spares store,,i had to undergo great pain in procuring different engine parts..Now i am in contact with my uncle in KHI for sourcing spares.

The car underwent a major reconditioning in 1998 where its wiring was redone and front rear bumpers re-chromed ,the car was repainted but as i said earlier the 2001 incident just sent it back into hibernation..The recent mechanic in what we call JAzbaat removed the entire paintwork ..But i think that will do as i am thinking of getting it repainted using clearcoat paints..The mechanic is an old friend of my Dad and has wide experience with late 70s models,also he is working with great determination as he says( i want to do something good before i retire :D,,this car i will remember it in the years to come)

Today the engine was tested,which was a success..The transmission was also good..

The current issues:
My mechanic cant understand abc of my carby,,but as i have observed the butterfly diaphragm is somehow affecting its idle speed..

I am mow looking for Master cylinder as well as brake parts which i am confident can be sourced from KHI.

The radiator is in the process of cleaning.

Transmission oil will be topped up,,as i am not changing the stock oil as it is somehow working well with the tranny.

Searching for:::Master cylinder set(complete)
Wheeler cylinder set

                  If the above 2 are not available than atleast
                  Wheel cylinder washer set
                  Master cylinder kit

Future Prospects:

Repainting

Reposhing

Rechroming of bumpers.

MASHALLAH bro a very cute and italian classic car...I am also after my NANA's car 60 corona as my NANA also passed away in 2000 when i was very littel and had little memories of him so that car is also very presious for me....check on tipu road near sir syed chowk i have always seen alot of minnie moris standing there getting restored by one guy who also owns them he might know about how to get old parts....

do u have all the spares other then the wheel cylinder and mster cylinder?
was it parked under a shed for this time?
who was the one to remove all the lights and chrome?
did it ever exchange hands from one mechanic to another?

Spares can be sourced from KHI but not easy like morris and others.
Yes the car was parked undershed
The lights have been removed by denter with all original bumpers and lights safe and intact in storage
Last Q i cannot understand..

Morris Spares sourcing was easy? :-!. Sourcing and importing them costed me a fortune :-$. Anyways, Ramzan on Tipu road will be helpful, do pay him a visit.

By they way @devilskreed, you are one Lucky Grandson :D, take good care of this beauty and do not compromise on Quality and Originality. It also applies on the interior, also discuss that with Ramzan, he helped with my car and you can view the pictures on Moggie thread.

Also notice the engine bay pictures on Moggie Thread, and look closely at the wiring, that art-work was also done by his electrician who is deep into the classic cars wiring!

Have you found new windscreen and rear-screen rubbers from Karachi? If not then also think importing them from Italy seriously, they will change the looks of your restored vehicle - Park this item in things to do list!

x 2 on what @Basharatu said. This is a car that deserves to be kept as close to original, as possible. Perhaps even to the point of retaining its original colour code, and paint type. While I have absolutely no idea about how to go about rebuilding one of these beauties...it'd be a pleasure for me to help, in whatever way I could. Please feel free to ask for any help and/or advice.

@bashartu Yes sir a lot of work needs to be done..ATM i am focusing on getting the car on the roads..For this i need to revamp its brake system..I am in process of procuring some required parts..I also have the service and repair manual for this car but unfortunately its 90% intact with its base burned due to an incident 30 years ago when it got burned in a fire

If the spares price in KHI wont be competitive i will import them from fiat cambri

SIr i need some information regarding custom duties on spare imports for old cars..SO i can calculate how much will be my total expenditure in addition to price+shipping
