Dont jump in blind and get yourself into a situation where you have an old impala in Pakistan running a clapped out toyota 1uz that is already dead..
Firstly get yourself a very basic car and organically learn the ins and outs so you can get a feel of it and if in future you do meet with similar interest people you can filter out the freeloader chaska party types from actual gearheads (the skillset you will learn is also beneficial when you get work done by a shop as you will know immediately if you are being conned)
And also finally, this hobby takes a lot of effort and time and will cause a lot of physical pain, stress, social strife and a lot of mental exhaustion., so start with baby steps. My oldest freinds started with motorcycles, they literally repaired and restored their own daily rides like cd70 and cg125 etc and evolved to mitsubishi evos and now are doing turbo audi craziness.
Meaning, dont go buy something assuming its a bun kabab and you can shove a honda engine into a suzuki from some welder ustaad and assume a modicum of reliability. There are a ton of engineering principles to look into otherwise your car becomes your coffin.
A lot of them would be invisble to you unless you are skilled in this craft.
